Check out www.fredmiranda.com. He has several photoshop actions for sale (including velvia) at a reasonable price. I can vouch for the B&W action, I'm very pleased with the results. I will be getting the velvia action next.

'It's to punish you guys for the free health care.'
Andrew, obviously you have not checked out my latest tax return. Trust me there is nothing 'free' about our health care system. :)

Mack, I got the Lowepro Nova 4. It has mesh side pockets, and a zippered compartment in the back which is perfect for the rebel manual. I am able to carry in the bag: Rebel, 75-300mm zoom, kit lens, 105mm macro 550EX flash. In the front compartment, I can store extra batteries, charger, CF cards, etc.. Excellent bag for the price, about 75.00 CAD. Hope this helps.

I have purchased equipment from cameracanada.com and vistek.com and both of these companies offer excellent service. Shipping fees are reasonable and prices are competitive. I have also purchased equipment from B&H, and depending on the product, you can save quite a few dollars (even though shipping costs are quite high).

Thanks Mark & Jim. I think for my purposes, the Sigma is a better fit. It has the features I want (2nd curtain synch, FEC etc.) at a price that is attractive. The money I save , I can put towards a macro lense.
Thanks again.

I was about to buy the Canon 550ex flash for my 300d. Then I happen
to spot the Sigma ef 500 super dg flash. I did a search on several
forums and the general consensus was that for the price, it is a
decent flash that is completely compatible to the 300d with the
exception that it uses only one focus point. Since I am not averse
to saving about $120.00, I was about to plunk down the cash when I
happen to ask the retailer if in fact this flash was compatible. His
answer was that Sigma does not guarantee compatibility and mentioned
the focus points and few other issues and suggested that I should go
with the 550ex. I checked with a couple of other retailers and they
too pointed me in the direction of the 550ex. Did I misread a bunch
of posts or are retailers trying their best to sell the more
expensive canon product. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 on EOS A2 - any issues?

I have the Tamron 28-75 with an EOS 5 (which is the European A2E) and have had great results. No issues at all.
Like you, the 70-200 has also spoiled me. It is my favorite lens.
