I have been asked by a book writer that she is willing to give me a contract
for taking pictures for two of her books along with her own portraits for book
covers.
She asked me for a price, however I am not sure how much should I ask for. She
says that one of these books might become a best seller and be picked up by one
of top book sellers.
I could go in two approaches, take a upfront fees and ask for per pritned copy
markup
Or take one lump sum irrespective of the number of prints.
Im sure some of you would have gone through this, I am just looking for pricing
structure and how much you guys charge for this kind of stuff ?
Thanks,
Jitesh

I modified the iso speed and now they look much better, the white balance helped, but i guess it was the iso speed.. i changed it to 400 and then to 800, worked like a charm.
Is this the correct way or am i missing something :(

Hi,
I finally got my Canon Dslr today ( wohoo) and i love it.
I tried taking some pictures and they come great.
I am actaully new in the digital slr stuff .. so if i am being too
naive or am not making any sense please let me know.
So I took 2 pictures of the same object ( flash on ) in both
One in fully automatic mode, second in P mode, Had couple of issues
If you look at the Fully automatic image
<br>
<img src="http://jitu.net/temp/Resize%20of%20fullyauto.jpg" alt=""
border="2" />
<br>
It looks kinda fine, photo was taken indoors
But if we look at the picture in p mode , it is kinda bluish
<br>
<img src="http://jitu.net/temp/Resize of pmode.jpg" alt="" border="2"
/>
<br>
I amnot sure why is this happening, this is because the camera i
faulty or i am doing all things wrong
Confused ???
Let me know if the camera is not supposed to do this as i am so bad at
these things , trying to learn and outgrow <br>
Thanks,<br>
J<br>
ps:if the pictures dont show upin the form above i have them at the
following url

Hi, <p>
After the numerous responses i got from the <a href="http://www.photo.
net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=006xoD">community</a> on buying
the camera with / or without the lens. I finally bought the lens.
But now cc also pushed me with an extended warranty, which i took.
However coming home i saw that the extended warranty plan from cc is
of no use. They do not honour it mostly and its complete waste of
money. <a href="http://badbusinessbureau.com/results.asp?
q1=ALL&q2=&q3=&q4=&q5=circuit&q6=&q7=&submit2=Search%21Circuit%
20City">Read this</a>
<p>
Now i was reading through the forums and people have <a href="http:
//www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=006cGI">suggested</a>
either not taking the extended warranty or taking it from people like
ritz camera who have extended service plan.
<p>
I was wondering if Canon direct had such an extended service plan, i
cant find anything on their website. I am now definitely not keeping
my warranty from circuit city. <br>
Any other options would be more than welcome
<p>
Thanks <br>

Book Cover Picture - Copyright and Pricing
in Wedding & Event
Posted
Thanks Guys,
I m thining to somehow retain the rights for the picture and go for a tiered Pricing, depending on how many prints the book gets. Like some sitting fees + $1 going down to 10 cents per copy of the printed book. It might fly ... rather than going just for a Lump sum and giving up the rights.
I did look up the Software, its expensive about 300 dollars .. holy moly, guess I have ask around if someone can do the calculations for me :) Or rather Ill just buy it and put it up as expenses.
Any more ideas guys ?
Thanks,
Jitesh
