  1. That is a tough question to respond to. Firstly you're kind of mixing your film

types and secondly you're unclear as to end purpose. TC's are not all equal. It

depends upon the system you are hooking your TC to. The reason most are

cool to TC's are that it is not the first choice one would make in aquisition. First

choices are the perfect prime, then comes the high end zoom, then the TC.

The TC is just another 'thing' that gets in the way of the perfect capture. That

said the closer you can get to your desired frame aspect capture the better.

Better resolution and just generally a good thing. The film is secondary to this

consideration.....for the most part.....depending upon purpose.

Isn't Reala a 35mm film? Anyway, good luck.

  2. The very best solution you would find is a Rollei 6008af / 80 Schneider af with

a 30' remote. Need some more reach get the 1.4 Longar converter. Maybe go

longer if you can choreograph. The 180mm af would be a nice solution at

about 3 -5 mters for those kind of shots. Needless to say it's a little spendy.

  3. Hi Mark.

Even the 180mm isn't unmangable set in with the strap. Pretty good solid

base to work from. The strap can interfere in conjunction with the grip. It gets

in the way of the on/selector switch. Just needs a bit of care when loading the

mag. Actually I've taken some ridiculous 35mm type action stuff with this

combo....on chrome... I like this camera very, very much.

  4. Answer to your first question is no. MF is no more dieing than LF.

As far as whether or not you should take the MF leap I'd say it

sounds as if you want to...... Go ahead if you think it will make you

happy. I'm about a year into MF and can say that the experience

is....great. I love it. A little different head trip but nonetheless very

satifying for what it is. The larger canvas has me paying closer

attention to compositional particulars esp. in metering inspite of

there being more room for error ie. cropping. I know it has made

me a better photograher. If going wonk sounds appealing...rock

on. Just something very satifying about a chrome 6x6. Done right

and given a high end scan lets you entertain filling up a wall if

    you so choose.

  5. Ray. Thanks for your response and good advice. Any little thing might help. As I am given to understand a quick charge should give you from 30- 50 shots and a full trickle charge (14 hours) should net somewhere around 200. I've not been able to approach anything like that with mine.As I said it seems that I fair better with just the quick charge. As if leaving the battery in longer actually drains it somehow. Oh well....We'll see what Rollei de has to say. Thanks again. Oh yeah. I do love this camera and yes I am new to Rollei gear. Actually new to medium format. Been a fairly serious 35mm guy for a while. New vistas...
  6. You will need the 600 series polaroid cartridges. ie. 665 black/white or 669 color. The swivel latch door witht the word polaroid is on the far right as viewed from a rear pov. This allows you to open the back.Once open you will place the cartidge face forward in the film compartment. That done simply close the latch all of the way. You should have an extruding piece of black paper. Once the magazine is closed with camera intact pull the black paper straight out. The white paper handles with nubers will emerged in sequential order as you spend/shoot them. These too are to be pulled straight out after each shot as to effect the development process. Umm...you will get it just fine. It is a bit of a sheesh why couldn't I see that before kind of deal. Good luck... I hope I haven't confused things.
  7. I have a Rollei 6008af and requisite batteries and charger. I was

wondering why I am getting such poor performance from my batteries,

especially on the long charge. It seems that the quick charge gives

me better longevity than otherwise. Any clues out there?

  8. I recall reading a post not long ago which the author complained

about the inability to get his nikon 9000 scanner to line up a

good scan in 6x6. I was having the same difficulty until I

discovered one must aquire thumbnail pallette in order for the

scanner to properly orient itself to the format. I assume it's the

same way the the other formats as well.

  9. I have just recently aquired this unit with the 80mm, 180mm, and

the1.4 extender. Have tried some really ridiculous 35mm kind of

stuff with it. Hand held sports action and wildlife stuff. All of the

results aren't in yet but will let you know when it comes together.

Operationally speaking moving targets are a hit and miss kind of

thing. You have to get your way about the process of zeroing in

and flipping to manual. Kind of like hitting a curveball. You have

to plan for its peculiarities. But the AF can get you in the ballpark

in a hurry. As to tripod still all I can say is that the pics are clear

    as a bell.

  10. I have just recently embarked upon the medium format

adventure armed with a Rollei 6008 AF. Is there anyone that has

any experience with the masterware and computer hook up. If so

please advise as to the particulars on the hook up(what kind of

cord) and its functionality. Additionally looking for some

observations on the 55mm PCS lens and its capabilities

especially in comparison to large format functionality. I have the

180mm 2.8 af and the 80mm 2.8 af. Am considering covering

further bases with the PCS. Thanks for any input.
