  1. Hey everyone. I'll be attending Hallmark this fall too. Still working on the money stuff and all. But I'm looking forward to September very much.

Jules, I'd be interested in car-pooling if we don't end up living on opposite sides of the school or anything.

Megan, what town are you from? I grew up in Philipsburg, PA and am living in Grove City now.

I found out about the school from my cousin's girlfried. She graduated from Hallmark with the top portfolio in her class a couple years ago and is working independently as a "lifestyle photojournalist"/portrait/fine art photographer in Providence, RI now. She is ridiculously awesome. Check out her Website. www.stephanieizzo.com Oh, and she'd barely picked up a camera before going to hallmark (although her family is all very artistic).

Looking forward to meeting all of you On September 7th.

    Nate

  2. No idea what's up with the Funky stuff under the sun in your image, but the ghosted image in the corner is definately due to your filter. When hit directly with a bright light (sun, lamp at night, etc.) a filter will very often reflect that light source across the center of the frame.
  3. Hey Meg,

I've also been accepted to the program for this fall. I was at the open house in October (I think it was October) and was blown away by the facilities. Very professional and high tech. Tons of computers, scanners, printers, commercial bays and portrait studios. Looks exciting. I can't wait to get my hands on that Mamiya 645. :0)

I'm not sure about the living expenses. The Admin person I talked to said a two bedroom apt would be about $700. I know some students live with faculty. They seem to do a lot to help you arrange for an apartment. There's a housing day sometime this spring.

Turners falls seems pretty small and quaint, but there are a couple of major universities (and everything that goes with that) nearby. It seems to be a great place for photography though. The school is right on a river and in the midst of some beautiful mountains. I was there during the fall foliage. It was awesome.

Drop me an email if you have any other questions or just want to get to know someone else who will be with you at Hallmark!

  4. Hey Tim,

I'll be attending Hallmark this fall. From everything I've heard and read this is an awesome school. My wife and I visited this past summer for an open house and the facilities and labs blew us away. The instructors do seem very fun and knowledgable. I found out about the school from my cousin's girlfriend. She went to Hallmark barely ever having picked up a camera and ended up graduating with the top portfolio in her class. She is doing very well as a portrait and fine art photographer in the Providence Rhode Island area. Check out her website www.stephanieizzo.com
