1.
Hector, if they truthfully, actively accept Christianity, they are directed by doctrine in what to do and what is right in their lives, they can not pick and choose, its out of their hands. Calling them bigots, is to condemn people for just doing what they have been instructed. I don't think they would hate the wedding or the couple, but feel very uncomfortable supporting something forbidden within Christian doctrine.

  2.
I don't allow the bride to choose her photos, I do the initial design of the album then at the 1st viewing invite them to change anything they want. Some change a photo, rarely more than 1 or 2 photo changes. I allow some pages blank for them to advise on family group shots otherwise all the rest is the cream of the day. So the album is made and collected one month after the wedding, all done.

  3.
Years ago I had a videographer whom set up a fence of tripods (3 tripods but the camera was only on 1) to block the asile and only 3 metres from the bride. I still got my shots but from less advantagous positions. After the wedding the bride asked me to give the video man all these ceremony shots as he had somehow lost all that footage. Of course I did.
Just smile and wave.... smile and wave.

Please be warned they uses some coarse language.

  5.
I have photographed so many church weddings where cameras and flash were allowed. Does this mean they were less sacred? Did God disapprove of their ceremony because of the less orthodox priest / minister? I do believe some officiants are a law unto themselves sometimes.

  6. I will do 95% of the wedding with the 35L with my legs doing the zooming.

I do some fisheye shots and some ring / cake closeups with a macro. I like

to 'think' a fixed field of view and I do need the sharpness for some cropping

and large wall prints. The Canon 35mm f1.4 L is a smart lens.

  7. Sometimes I use photoshop. Make a duplicate layer, edit, transform, scale. Just pull the image in maybe up to 5%. Its not enough to be noticed (long faces) but everyone just lost 10KG. This really works well on face shots too, adding youthfulness.

It might seem like faking it but it just as valid as using b&w, non normal lenses, saturated colours, a vignette etc.
