The idea is good but I think in reality the father should, at that age, be placed closer to the son to be able to see the details without glasses. It also looks like you are trying to show the photographer what's on the pad of paper. I don't see the need for the garden candle on the ground. Maybe the two should be closer to or leaning on the the table discussing the sketch with the surroundings taking up about the same percentage of the scene. Sorry to be so cruel but I found it average.
Cheers, Bob

Hi Michael,
I like your photo style...the power lines belong in the picture and enhance the
title 'rurality' . It's the last house or shed hooked up to power, after that it's petroleum lamps for light and wood stoves.
Nice use of either earlier morning or late evening light.
I've been living in Switzerland for the last 35 years but still enjoy photographing similar attractive slightly rolling areas around Toronto, Canada when I visit home.

I'm trying more cropped and wider 16:9 format and enjoying them also.
I did a sample of your's and it worked for me

Hi Jocke,
Intriging picture ...and good ! 6 / 6
Are you trying to confuse us ... ?
Is that a U-boat rising through the ice ?
Or did someone pull the plug and let the lake subside under the ice ?
I see water around a a pile of ice....and I'm sure you didn't pile it up.
I'm from Canada and I understand ice and water but you've got me ...
Give me a hint !
regards,
Bob

Hi Dara,
It was difficult to shoot the scene between the cars to improve the composition and bring in more beach, sea and sky.
Maybe the foreground with the cars contributes to the unesthetic beach scene.
It was a dreary and uninspiring spot and maybe the photo worked.

Bob
