<p>hey guess what, my D700 beep sound is flawed, it's so low in the hi mode, my setting, that I can hardly but definitely hear it , so no one is annoyed and I like it's reassuring "it's focused" announcement. BTW I can not believe this silly topic attracts so much attention, but here I am as well :)</p>

<p>IMHO for traveling, caryring, using, not needing to change lenses.... I travelled and backacked extensively, one solution that worked perfec for me is the D300 and 18-200 VR, low light? bump up the ISO to 1600 enough for EV obtainable in the 2.8. Rarly did I really need wider or longer lenses. </p>

<p>Need a mid range zoom for my D700, 24-120 VR gets poor reviews, my output is a 20x16 print is this lens sharp enough in it's midrange apatures? the 24-70 2.8 too heavy and expensive can not find a better midrange lens with other brands, opinions appreicated , than you.</p>

Completely agree with Darren, often I am asked when viewers look at my 16x20 prints taken with my D200 and 18-200 if I
used a medium format, lens is fabulous.
