Thanks for the responses. I have a Nikon 24-85G lens on my D100 and haven't used a prime lens. I love taking portraits. The question is how good is the picture I'll get from say 50mm f/1.8 D prime lens compared the same focal length on my 24-85G?

I am looking for a prime lens for my D100. I am considering between

the 28 f/2.8D AF, 35 f/2.0D AF or 50mm f/1.8D. Anybody has personal

experiences with any of these lenses on a D100? Thanks.

I own a D100 and my wife loves printing all the pictures to our

Canon i900D photo-printer. However, I am now starting to complain on

the amount of money I have to spend on constantly replacing the ink

cartridges. I wonder if anybody have tried using generic inks bought

from the internet and are happy with the results.

I am trying to take a close-up picture of a pink sunflower in my

front yard with my D100. However, everytime I previewed the picture

the pink flower looked yellow-ish, not even a trace of pink. I tried

to manipulate all possible settings and options for White Balance,

to no avail. I'm using my Nikon 24-85G lens. What else do I need to

do?

In my D100 is there much difference between using the SB50Dx

external flash compared to the built-in speedlight? What's in the

SB50Dx that the built-in flash can't do? I'm primarily using my D100

on people during parties and gatherings, indoor and outdoors.

I have a D100 with a 24-85G lens. I am looking for an 'affordable'

zoom lens. I found a 70-300mm F4-5.6 'G' AutoFocus lens. Anybody

with experience on this lens?

When I bought my 512Mb flash card I immediately use it in my D100,

and it works. I have already stored more that 100 pictures. However,

I read in the manual that you must format the flash card before

using it. What do I need to do now?

I just purchased a D100 but it seems like most of my photos are a

little bit dark. Is there anything I need to do? I used all the

default settings. I am using a Nikon 24-85G lens and the built-in

flash. I am a newbee, I appreciate any help.
