Hi all,
Maybe my original post wasn't very clear. My apologies. I'll try again.
With my APS-C SLR, I can make 4x6 prints without cropping since its sensor has a 3:2
aspect ratio. It's also easy to find 4x6 frames. My point-and-shoot's sensor has a 4:3
aspect ratio, and I'm frustrated by needing to crop every time I want to make a 4x6 print.
So, my question was about trying to find printers and frames with 4:3 aspect ratios. I'm
taking it by the repsonses so far that there aren't. Bummer.

I'm interested in a 4/3 camera, but one concern I have is that printers and service bureaus seem to be
geared towards 3/2 prints such as 4x6 and 8x12. i don't want to crop each 4/3 photo just to make a
print. are there 4/3 printers out there and 4/3 picture frames?

Ahh, great. Of course I searched, but came up emtpy handed. Here's what I did:
what search string did you use?

I can find inexpensive frames for 3x5 inch and 5x7 inch prints, but
my camera has a 4:3 aspect ratio. I tend to compose my shots
without taking that into consideration. ideally i'd like to get
frames with the same aspect ratio so that i don't have to crop. how
have others dealt with this problem?

It's expensive unless you get the $1000 Canon Digital Rebel which includes a wide-angle zoom lens which people praise even though it feels cheap. My Minolta 7hi also goes down to 28mm (in 35mm format). So do a few other digicams without interchangeable lenses. I agree that a line of less expensive DX lenses would be welcome though.

Thanks for the responses. I actually have a Gretag Macbeth Eye-One Display colorimeter on order, so that should solve part of the problem.
I started thinking about this after going to Macworld SF last week and seeing that images just look better on Macs. I think it's because the PCs I use tend to be budget models with cheap monitors. My hope is that if I put a $600 monitor on a calibrated PC that I can get the image quality I saw at Macworld. Part of it might be that Macs use a gamma of 1.8 whereas PCs use a gamma of 2.2.
I have to stick with a LCD due to space limitations. :(

I'm in the market for a 17" LCD and want the best one for digital
imaging needs on WinXP. The 17" Apple Studio Display looks
terrific. I also have a good feeling about LCDs from Eizo/Nanao.
What should I be looking for? How can I be sure I pick a monitor
which will satisfy a photographer more than a gamer?

K10D: gridlines?

Does anyone know if the K10D has an option to display gridlines? I didn't see it mentioned on
dpreview.com's preview.
