Once again, here's a great shot that makes me envious. I think this image has the potential of becoming an Iconic picture when you receive your Lifetime Achievement Award! Who knows what life awaits this so thoughtful-looking young man! On the technical side though, I'd punch the blacks a lot more and delete the little piece of hair on the bottom left corner.

You get my compliments and admiration.

  1. There's nothing wrong with your outdoor lighting - what matters is that you were there, she was there, and there was a moment that you've so beautifully captured. The golden light adds some magic to this gorgeous shot.

Not only are you a great photographer but you can also draw! On the computer!! I am amazed at this drawings collection. I own an M3 and any representation is a ideal present to our eyes - yours are truly magical!!

Some may find that you lose details in the jaw line and hair (too much contrast?) but this great shot has definitely caught my attention for its off-side framing, punchy blacks, deep tones and the strong presence of your fantastic model. I would tone down the white of her (his?) eye a little to look more natural. Well done!

Great shot - it's warm, intimate, perfectly lit and composed. They share a secret that they don't want us to know and their friendship is their strength. I'm jealous!
  2. This is one superbly executed portrait (I would punch the contrast a bit more), celebrating real craftsmen and women who have an endless passion and respect for their art. It is sad that this marks the end of their efforts but you should be honored to have taken this historical image. It should make it in the Photography Books!!!
  3. Great shot for a great girl! The problem is, it seems to me that you've used a 50mm lens, which is a mistake for close-up portraiture as it distorts her proportions. See how big her head is compared to her tiny body?? You're using the wrong lens and it's not flatttering! Try again with a 105 or longer and you'll keep her proportions intact.

Too much contrast on this great shot burns the whites and blocks the blacks. Also, I think you've retouched her face far too much too. Nevertheless, I love the composition, the give and the overall mood.
