I find it somewhat difficult putting into words what draws me to this image and to those in "Black & White Photography" magazine. I find them almost hypnotic; in this shot the out of focus background gives a sense of motion which holds the eye, yet ultimately I'm drawn to the in focus twig and berries. Recently I've become interested in B&W photography in general and in pinhole and toy camera effects in particular. There is something about these types of images I find appealing and even nostalgic. Your photos have given me inspiration on how to proceed with a number of my own images. I'd love to see more of your work.

A marvelous Lake District image. I particularly like the play of light and shadow and the way they draw the eye to the farm house and buildings. I find the panorama format adds to the image as well.

Thank's for your comments. I'm thinking somewhere between the two images may work best for me. The lightening is a definite improvement but I think your version has lost some of the depth in the original. Maybe a bit more contrast. Thank's again.

I like the use of B&W, however, I find the highlights in the eyes distracting - they become the focus of the image. I would like to see more of the detail in the eyes.
