May I suggest a lens that you did not list: ZM Biogon 35/2.
Check for multiple threads with photos on RFF.
Also check E. Puts recent eval (technical only) of the lens.
<a href="http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33116&page=4&highlight=biogon"> Example </a> of RFF discussion.
Price is $800, IIRC.

Very nice, Matt. Even better with border.

Matt,
TriX in Diafine at 1600 or 1250?
Have been using 1600 (as rec. by Diafine), but some seem to prefer 1250. What do you think?
Thanks,
Andreas

Currently M-less, and looking around for a mechanical M (so the M7 and M8 are out of the picture).

Or, just get an M7 and be done with it!
LOL!

M3.
Build quality. Feel. Karma.
The M3 was the culmination point of Leica's build quality. The relative price point was consequently the highest of any Leica (including M7/MP). M2 was built cheaper to drop the price (and other reasons, VF for 35mm etc), a trend that continued with the M4-2-P, M6. MP is in a different category, closer to the M3. It got worse with time...
Having said that, the M4-7 are better made than almost anything else on the market and above statements will have no impact on the photos you take (apart from the emotional plateau phase of holding a M3 in your hand).
If it is your only M and you use wides, you might want to consider the M2 as well.
Andreas
Disclosure: own a M3, M6, MP (used M2s).

One is dramatically better than the other. :-)

I spent many hours comparing the Minolta 5400 and Coolscan V scanning B&W. In my
hands, using same vuescan settings, the V gave me better results.
But Mr. Wong's question was about the DS IV, I have not used it.

ASA 200.
As mentionened before, it's muddyish at 400.
If you rate it lower, I think there are better films for that purpose.

Does anybody know who does CLAs on Canon LTM lenses?

No way.
20D is 1400$, so you are paying around 700$.
Nikon D70 is about 780$ after rebate these days...

Jan,
so no problem with you 19?
Quote from gandy:
"The 19/2.8 R, the old 21/4 R mirror lockup, 24R, and 35/1.4 R? can not be used on the
EOS,? as the deeply recessed rear element will strike the EOS mirror.? This may also be true
of other deeply recessed R lenses.? ORDER"

Used an MP yesterday in -15 fahrenheit - no problem.
Do not think it is a MP/M7/M6/Mx problem, get new batteries and check again.

Stephen,
I have found HP5 at 1600 and DR5 processed to be absolutely amazing in similar settings.
But as mentioned before, go with what you know until you have experience with it.
Epson RD1s - Knowing what you know today....

Yes.
Had a RD1s, bought an M8, kept the M8 for 9 months and then sold it. Still have and use
the RD1s. Ergonomically it works better for me. It's intuitive, does not get in your way.
Color rendition is outstanding, no post processing necessary. It is more a M3 with a
sensor (my ideal) than a M8. Images at 800 are better with less noise than M8.
Never had any issues in 2 years, RF is easy to do if you have to.
Buy it, prices will only continue to go up. There won't be an update. Zeiss - who knows.
Leica - if they survive, may be they get it right the next time...
