<p>I visited Lisbon back in November 2007. I had three days (including flight-days) which actually meant two full days to wander around. Following what David proposes above, is the best strategy and I found myself doing the same (didn't make it to Sintra. If I had one day more I would!).</p>
<p>To find your way around, pick a Lonely Planet of Fodor's guide and just walk. Taxis are cheap and the metro/ tram system is very efficient. Use them and you will be able to see most of Lisbon without any issues.</p>
<p>However, contrary to what has been said by some posters, I think that <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_110736.html">Lisbon</a> is also fabulous, photographically speaking! I usually say that <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_110736.html ">Lisbon</a> is not just about monuments, extravagant buildings or typical sightseeing. To "breathe" the city you have to engage with its people, to listen to its Fado songs, and to immerse into its history. Lisbon has a soul which cannot be captured just by pictures...</p>
<p>I tried to capture some of this character through my <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_110736.html">Lisbon photos</a> found at my website.</p>
<p>If in the mood, you are also invited to download and watch my brief <a href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html">Lisbon photo slideshow</a> (6th in row, watch with sound on!) that may convey some of the city's beauty.</p>
<p>Hope you enjoy your visit!</p>
<p>Regards,<br>

<p>A couple of weeks ago I visited METEORA, Greece. <br />As you will see for yourself, <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_193122.html">Meteora </a>is a unique place in terms of morphology. It is rocks and cavities which have been shaped in a peculiar way during thousands of years. And on top of them, are <strong>monasteries</strong> built in the most un-reachable way over the centuries. The view is breathtaking!<br>
<br />Instead of browsing photos , I kindly invite you to download and watch my 2.5 min atmospheric Photo Slideshow found here: <a href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html">http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html</a> (1st in row)<br /><strong>*BUT*</strong> you have to have the sound ON. :-)<br>
<br />More of my photos from Meteora, are on my website <a href="http://www.larios.gr ">here</a>.. (first photo <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_193122.html">gallery </a>is Meteora). Would *really* appreciate your comments or critique at my guestbook by <a href="http://www.larios.gr/guestbook.html">clicking here... </a><br /><br />Samples are below (click to enlarge):<br /><a href="http://www.larios.gr/photo_3150537.html"><img src="http://www1.clikpic.com/larios/images/Larios_Meteora_IMG_4165_thumb.jpg" alt="" /></a><br>

Τhis is really bothering me!
I was hoping to invest in my Photography skills more (I am an enthusiast right now with a fairly good knowledge, check http://www.larios.gr) but reading all this stuff about NYIP changes my mind!
Any alternatives?

Moved up to 40D from the 350D/ Rebel XT. <br>
Actually *love* my 40D for its versatility and value. It offers more than I could ask for.<br><br>
I usually say that "My 40D is a better camera, than I am a photographer !"<br><br>

Recently I was contemplating on how many "pictures" I have kept just in my
mind, from those places that I have visited..<br>
"Mind Photos" that I could never "save" and bring back.<br><br>
Well during this philosophical quest, I made a brief relaxing photo slideshow
(with music) with the few glimpses that I have managed to save through my
DSLR ... <br>
I gave it the title <strong>"Ode to fleeting moments"</strong>.<br>
And actually I made it as an "ode" to the missed ones!<br><br>
Enjoy it for yourself by downloading it from here: <a
href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html">http://www.larios.gr/section11638

and then contemplate for those moments of yours!<br><br>

Back in November 2007, I went to Venice on a business trip (I was a speaker at
a Conference).<br>
Needless to say I fell in love with Venice (and Burano island). That's why I
tried to depict it the way I thought it really is....<br>
Although Venice has been photographed billions of times, I set out to provide
my own views (but I am an enthusiast hobbyist photographer, not a pro or
anything)<br><br>
You are kindly invited to check my Venice photo gallery at <a
href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_115918.html
However, I wanted to make the experience even closer to what it really
was...<br> That's why I also prepared a <b>*VERY* relaxing 5-min photo
slideshow</b> with music, with my Venice photos.<br><br>
I provide it here for your enjoyment! Download it at: <a
href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html">http://www.larios.gr/section11638
2.html</a><br><br>
Enjoy it! :-)<br><br>
Comments at my website's guestbook are always welcome. <a

I had the chance of visiting Lisbon, Portugal during a two-day Conference last
week. I knew from the very beginning that this was <strong>NOT</strong> the
typical tourist destination! Lisbon was <strong>NOT</strong> about buildings or
touristic sightseeing... It was rather about its soul, its songs and its
people. This makes it very difficult to depict its mood and its
character...<br><br>
However I tried! I just created <a href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html
">a relaxing 3-min photo Slideshow</a>, with my photos from Lisbon. It is
accompanied by music and tries to convey the true soul of Lisbon. <br><br>
Download the slideshow by <a href="http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html
">clicking here...</a><br>
Enjoy!<br><br>
I have also setup a <a href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_110736.html">Lisbon
photo gallery</a>, containing the photos. <a
href="http://www.larios.gr/gallery_110736.html">Click here</a> to see them.
<br><br>
I would really appreciate your comments at my guestbook, by <a

Thanks in advance, <br>

Thomas and Bill, really thanks!
It definately is a "family-island" with numerous and marvelous beaches, easy to explore with a car (i.e. nice road network), well-developed with hotels, places for the kids etc.
If you need any more info, please let me know!
Kind regards, Yannis

Paros island, Greece is well-known for its beaches, tavernas and bursting night-
life. However, it's usually jam-packed with tourists.
I hoped I would be able to find "different" views of Paros island, "beyond
crowded eyes"...
I don't know if I succeeded... At least I tried!
See for yourself at my Paros island photo gallery:
http://www.larios.gr/gallery_96792.html
If you are also in the mood, download a VERY relaxing 2.5 min slideshow (with
music) depicting Paros. Find it here:
http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html
I would appreciate your comments at the guestbook here:
-
Actually it's a single RAW file, processed at two different exposures (-1) (+1) and then combined in PS.

Thanks for your kind comments Mary.
Actually, the mills are in the village of Oia, Santorini.
At Fira (the main town and capital of Santorini) that you may be referring, there are no mills, but in Oia I think they have been a long time.

As you may well be aware, Santorini, Greece is indeed one of the most sought
out destinations! I have just put a small section of Santorini photos in my
photo gallery at http://www.larios.gr
Even more, you can also download a very relaxing 3-min Santorini slideshow
(with sound) that depicts corners of this fabulous island.
Find it at the above link, by clicking at the section "Slideshows", or directly
from here: http://www.larios.gr/section116382.html
If you do like it, I would appreciate your thoughts at
http://www.larios.gr/contactform.html
....And also feel free to send to slideshow to any friends or relatives, also
in need of some relaxation! :)
