  1. Dear David,

I studied Photography, Painting, Scenography and Digital Design at the University of Fine Arts in Athens.

I think my biggest strength lies in being able to externalize the chaotic state of the human nature in my own characteristic way. I morph, disfigure and extend the human figure within space, thus giving it a metaphysical dimension.

All the figures you see in the "Renaissance" part I" composition are source images that were acquired with my high resolution digital camera, since the size and the quality of the source imagery is integral to the final result. These were further processed and manipulated using Photoshop and Painter IX.

Personally, I don't think Renaissance is Graphic Art photography doesn't have neither limitations nor stereotypes. I am just an artist who is trying to decode the human nature. Of course I admire traditional photography techniques and composition, but in our days Art needs fresh and new elements, to breathe and recreate.

So, I think it's high time we stopped considering Photography as merely a way to record and depict reality. It's time to try to redefine it, give it a new image and adapt it to our contemporary needs. We should have no limitations and therefore feel free to enhance it with the aid of other visual arts, be it painting, dance or installation, always having as the main and only criterion the need to express one's inner self.

    thanks for your comments
