I'd like to get into MF. There is a listing on my local CL...1947 Voightlander Bessa II for $100. Is this a good camera for a beginner or should I look at something else?

$1200 for accessories seems high...I'd rather put it in the glass.
I would go with:
Canon 10-22mm (for landscapes)
Either Canon 17-55 IS or 24-70. (general walk around glass).
And 70-200 (zoom).

Is he taking a laptop? How about burning them to CDs or DVDs.

I suspect that Angel gave him some grief over posting the identical question in two forums, the OP added the word "wedding" after his initial post.........which changed the nature of the question, made it much more appropriate to the wedding forum, and likely would have avoided her initial admonishment.

Actually I didn't edit my post here. Yes...I posted the same question in the EOS forum and here. But they were worded differently from the start. And I should have searched first, which I didn't. Lesson learnt.

Wow...
I'm asking, because I'm taking a darkroom class in my local community college, so just wanted to know if pros still use the film (at least on a ocasion).
Marc, thank you for your professional response.

Why wrong forum? I asked if anybody is using film for the weddings in the wedding forum. Or is this "wedding and social event photography using digital" forum?

Just curious...does anybody still shoot weddings using film?

Now you'll be upgrading your lenses anyway:) Ask me how I know.

Do you ever tell your self...I wish I could do this or that? That should point you to the lens you need. Yes, 50 1.8 might be a barain, but will you use it? Or would a different lens suit your needs better?

I have no intentions of upgrading to FF anytime soon.
I'm not a fun of flash, so for the inside shots I'd probably need the 2.8. Even if I push ISO to 1600 aperture of 4 is not enough.

Thanks for the links. I thought about version II as well, but I shoot with 50D and I've read that the improvements are mostly seen on the full frame cameras.
I'm also considering 17-55 2.8IS...brand new runs for around $980.

I'm looking to buy a used Canon 16-35 2.8L. Any advice on what I should be looking for when testing one? And does anybody know the fair market price for one? The guy that is selling it wants $875 for it.
