This is what alot of people refer to as the BGLOD (blinking green light of death). Alot fo d70 have gotten this, even my first one did. you can look on dpreview.com to see what other people have seen about this and i think the set price is around 300 dollars for the repair. sorry for your loss.

Actually, now that i'm thinking about this i had like the same EXACT thing happen to me once, had this lady contact me for her wedding, i got the deposit and that was it... then 2 days before the wedding i get a call asking about it, i told her she never signed my contract or anything so i mailed the check back, she said thats why she's calling, and she meet with me that day to sign the contract. she didn't have the right time or addresses or anything! so i just happened to know the limo driver and drove with him all night, haha, but i ony got half the money at the wedding, i tried calling her after the wedding, because i had her prints and i wanted my money, well she had changed her number. luckly her sister works at strong as do I. So i have her sis contact the bride and she still never called me back, we're talking 6 months at this point. I finally get ahold of her and she doesn't have the money to pay! side note, still have the images, 10 months now, from now on I never take the money unless it's ALL up front. and i need a prelim. contract with all the info of EVERYONE involved, contact information and EVERYTHING. I wonder if it's just rochester brides, haha

I seriously agree, i mean i've ran into a couple (read, alot) when i stzrted working a few extra gigs for this other guy, he never payed more then 7 an hour and i was shooting the wedding, lol i always did my best, but handed out my card instead of his. but sorry about your bad day, they happen unfortently. I did like your site btw, it has some nice work on it, and it's easy to navigate. We should seriously get in touch sometime, i might even have an event to pass on soon it's around my 21st bday in aug and i certently won't be up to par ;)

I wouldn't price this. I'll gaurentee that this is one of those fraud deals, I'd email them back saying you don't totally understand what they want and you want a phone number to contact them through and I bet you won't get one. Sorry boss, these seem to be going around alot more often now. But hey, I have been known to be wrong, once ;) (j/k)

I myself still use wedding albums and dvd's. I'm fully digital as well. I just happen to out source where I do everything after the shoot. so there really isin't much of a need for that in my opinion because with my dvd burning software it creates a slidshow on tv or computer, with my album company i can get flush mount books or tradional wedding albums. Sorry i think in the world of digital it's so easily done, because even those using film have all thier images technically scanned before they're printed with the new machines and could get a slide show made at that time. keep trying thou, i'm sure something will come along.

i had one about 2 hrs before the wedding was supposed to start and an hour after the photographer was supposed to be there. One of the best weddings i did and my first solo wedding. Thier photographer had a heart attack and i was the lucky one pulled from the hat. lol woke me up and everything. but it really was a great wedding.

soething i would never recomend, what if it falls off and ends up in the camera body and scratches the sensor? it's cheaper in that case just to get it fixed right? also that switch is whaty controls tha tapture from the body to isin't it?

and you could always go to like amazon and get a uesd one that way too

Honestly I'd love to see a copy of your contract for weddings and how you work that into the fee. I've been thinking about doing that for awhile with all I have to pay with insurance and the cost of upkeep and expanding. Thanks for the advice though.

check with both of them. Do you have a second group of photographers that you work with or can work with that you can trade extra dates for. you might still make a few hundred and they can make some extra money. I do this alot, me and my co-hort will double book with the other and give one to the other. it works for both of us. we do have a few extra back-up photographers we can use as well.

For me it ussually takes about a week, but ussually i just do a hi res digital cd and then a dvd slideshow as well and a letter allowing them to get the images printed where they like with my recomendations listed. In my higher end packages it would be 3-6 weeks thou, mainly because of the lab time taking a min. of three weeks. thou one they were slow and called me four hours later wanting to know if i wanted to pick them up, not bad for 3 hour dip and dunk processing, lol.

 

now my problem happens to be getting the brides to call me back when they say they are and pay me when i need them to

mines there, they told me 7 days as well, and well i called today and they told me 6 weeks now. so they have both my cameras and they can't find my n80, i'm kinda pissed

i agree with Derek. it's kinda rude to not let you eat. esp. when your running around for 8+ hours. i do put in my contract that if i'm not fed i get a half hour lunch to get food and i'm not responsible for any lost memories (cause if i eat with the party i can always get up and shoot. and there was one time when we were sitting down to eat and then out of no where the bride and groom stand up and start giving a spech to thier parents. poor video guy missed most of it cause we weren't told bout it. but because we got to eat with them i still got photo's.)

i'm trying to find a cheap online printer who does larger (up to

30x40) prints and does them cheap (quilty would be nice but not

neccesary, it's mainly to check how digital prints would look that

big vs. film). i'd also like a digital printer who would be able to

do odd shaped prints (say like pano's but at wierd sizes like 1.5 ft

by 4 ft). i know the printer who does the printing for

deviantprints.com does what i'm looking for but i can't rememebr who

that is. does anyone know? thanks in advance

actually i think famous people u don't need a release for because of thier public status already, correct me if i'm wrong

lol nah don't worry bout it, ups ussally updates there information ecery 24 hrs at night, and with it being friday, if u ordered it today it prob won't get to ship till mon anyways. but they've deffently have it in stock and packed and ready to go for u if it says shipping information recieved, just means ups might not of picked it up yet

LOL! i know i'm getting screwed, i havn't donbe anymore jobs for him, and won't, but i need a proper price for the weddings i did so i can get paid for those atleast. Lol yea last time someone offered me 100 dollars to work a wedding it was the other photographer who only charged is brother 500 for the wedding! I already have alot of my own bookings, i just figured I'd help this guy out and make some extra money, but 50 bucks is not alot of extra money, espesially while gas isin't 23 cents a gallon is 2.30 dollars a gallon now!
