1.
Philip,
Sorry, but I am still confused on using my Canon 300TL on my T90 for Fill in flash. I usually shoot birds. I always use my T90 in Manual mode. I determine my exposure manually, by metering a medium gey surface close by the bird when possible or any other tone and compensate for it or Sunny rule when adequate. Now, I would like to put a bit of light on the birds eye, using fill in possibility of the 300TL. The 300TL Instruction manual says only "Fill in flash is possible", but don't elaborate and show HOW? Your help will be very well appreciated. Thank you.

  2.
Hello All.
Me too, I have a problem using the Canon 300TL on my T90 camera. I'm just lost among all these ascronyms; ATTL, ETTL, TTL, FEL etc. I just want to use Fill flash with my 300TL. Let say I'm shooting a bird 30ft away at 1/500sec / F5.6 and want to add just a little bit of light. How to do that. I read the flash documention that just says "Fill flash possible" that's it. It does not say how. I read all the litterature, reference guide referenced above and nowhere. Thank you. Also, anyone has found a Flash extender (better beamer) that wil fit the canon 300TL. Thank you.

  3.
Hello,
I finally received the Kirk Photo L-bracket BL-67II and it fit very well my Pentax 6x7 body with the wooden handle on. However, you cannot access the battery compatment as it gets covered, nor you can open the back door. You need to take out the barcket. But this is not really a big deal. It takes seconds to remove it and put it back on, if necessary. Hope this will help those that want to shoot also vertical.
Note: It is designed for Arca Swiss type of Quick Release rail.

  4. Hello,

I finally bought the Kirk Photo L-bracket BL-67II, from Adorama for a very good price. As Scott said, it fit very well my Pentax 6x7 body. You can leave the wooden handle. The only thing is you won't have access to the battery compartment as it gets covered and won't be able to open the back door, unless you take out the bracket (just one screw, fast to remove and put back in), which is not really a big deal. So, Scott is right. Hope this will help other that would like also to shoot vertical. Kirk, still has them.

  5. Hello, Stuart. I browsed the ADORAMA Web site today and found the Kirk L bracket "Kirk L-Bracket BL-67II " selling for $89.00. Exc condition. Kirk price is $ 159.95. So. I rushed and called Adorama and explained that I have the older model 6x7 and also told him about Kirk saying "for 6x7ii only". He assured me that this bracket will work on the 6x7 model (without removing the handle), as well as on the 67 and of course the 6x7ii models. He seems to know the difference between the three models. He said that I can still get a refund if it doesn't work. He is 100% sure that it will fit the older model. I ordered it right away with a couple of film to test the beast. I forgot to ask about the battery compartment, as it might cover the 6x7 battery compartment, but this, personally won't bother me as I'm not a professional shooting a lot of film. I keep my fingers crossed. I'll let you know. If it works then, great, that might help others out there wishing to shoot also Vertical.
  6. Daniel! Have you solved your problem with the L bracket? Me too, I just purchased a Pentax 6x7 w/MLU (not the 67 or 67II body), and can't find an L bracket for this camera that will mount on my Arca-Swiss B1 ball head with Quick releae. I found one on Kirk Entrprise web site, the Kirk L-Bracket BL-67II, but they say, I quote, " Fits only the Pentax 6x7 II". Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
  7. I just purchased a Pentax 6x7 camera, my first move into medium format. I will need some help finding an L bracket

for Arca Release type for my Pentax 6x7 camera (not the newer model 67 or 67II). I read that some people bought

the Kirk L-Bracket BL-67II for their Pentax 67 body and it worked for them despite that Kirk advertized it "for Pentax

67II ONLY". Anybody used it for the older model 6x7 (again not 67)?

    Thank you for your help.

  8. Thank you Jean-Bernard. I just ordered the MPR-1 from Really Right

Stuff. It is 6" long (15.2 centimeters), so, as you said, I'll have enough room to balance the lens. You are right, the lens need to be tightened with two screws.

Here are the charateristics of this plate:

    MPR-1 dimensions: 6" x 1.5" x .370" (152.4mm x 38.0mm x 9.3mm) (excluding flange), Weight: 4.0 oz (114g)

Includes: Rail, moveable flange, 2 B101 screws, 4 M3x8mm screws and 2 hex key wrenches (purchase reducer bushing if adding a clamp)

Standard Really Right Stuff. Warranty 5-year

    Cost $65.00

    Wimberley have a similar plate P-40 for $58.00 (5.88")

    Kirk have the LP-6 for $55.00 (6")

I prefred the Really Right Stuff's plate as it is designed specifically for the Canon EF 500mm F4.5Llens which is the same lens as the FD I have (just EOS).

  9. Thanks Steve for answering my question. Here is the result of my search today

    KIRK ENTRPRISES

Kirk Quick Release Lens Plates for

Canon Manual Focus Lenses with Tripod Collars

LP-6 but no tech. info (dimensions), just a picture showing 2 screws. ($55.00). Looking at the picture it seems to be 6" to 7" long

    ====================================================================

Here is my dilemna. Which one to pick? My Canon FD 500mm F4.5L lens has a tripod collar which base is 2.5" long.

My question is: Should the plate be longer than 2.5". Is longer better?

Called today Wimberley and Really Right Stuff. They couldn't tell me exactely which one I need for my lens. I couldn't get in hold with Kirk.
