Here's a quick test.

Jetison down to your local camera shop. Stoll around with your 10D and a high quality

lens, like the 24-70 L f/2.8 Imagine you're "on site" of your next photo-shoot (birthday,

wedding, graduation, whatever). Spend a couple of hours taking an average amount of

shots - every 20-30 seconds or so (for those mathmatically inclined, that's 240-360

times you 'lift, aim, focus, shoot, lift, aim, focus . . . )

Then attach the BG-ED to the camera and do the same. After 15 minutes . . . *SOLD*

Geeez Fazal! I put my 70-200 L f/4 under a industrial sheet metal fabrication hydrolic

counter prism gravity press. After mearly 200 ft/lbs. of pressure IT STARTED TO

BEND! Then I put in my all-metal 24-70 L f/2.8 and it didn't start to bend until 500

ft/lbs.! C'mon, its got to be plastic!

What's missing? Someone from Canon able to justify the cost of a 1Ds . . . with a

straight face.

Thanks everyone! I'll keep the spare in my pocket & not the bag. Now, maybe I'll

rethink all those alkalines in the fridge : )

I'm traveling up to Tahoe for a little winter shooting (hail to the snow gods!) and I've

heard that the Ed-GB3 battery grip will "assist" my 10D in cold weather? Is this true,

and if so, how?
