good height of action photo capture... the right arm ( and black glove) in blue is a bit dark... could probably be lightened up in photoshop... like the suggestion of spectators in the background
-
Nice shot! Love the colors! I also like the fact that the boat is heading toward the only bit of land in the shot... hints at a story which makes better photos, I think... also the boat is starting to head out of the reflection in the water and into the mist/fog in front of it...
Sometimes the best shots are taken at the right moment & the right time... "making" a shot work sometimes means... the shot doesn't work...or worse yet: you miss the shot... I take photos that I sometimes think PROBABLY won't come out... but if I didn't take it... I miss the shot... so what?? I just waste a frame of film...
-
good sharp photo... good throwing the background out of focus... only way I see to improve it is have the head of the bird in the right 1/3 of the photo... good shot though! I ESPECIALLY like the small bit of food in its mouth
-
A vase with flowers & other "stuff", I guess? Don't like the way the pink bleads into the top & right side without detail
-
looks like the same subject as in a previously critiqued photo... better positioning; the dark trunk behind her head doesn't help... waiting for her to move so that her head is in front of white would have been better... also... perhaps a bit tighter shot would be better... but this one is better than the other... although I liked the evergreens in the previous shot
-
... looks like a sunset shot from the coloring on the brown tree in background... probably should have moved lens more to the left so that the deer is not looking/moving OUT of the photo but toward the center of the photo... also... empty space in foreground; perhaps a lower shot would have been better; like the snow covered trees and the subject though - ideally, the right side of the photo would have ended 2' right of the smaller dark green tree and the bottom of the photo would have ended at the base of the brush in the foreground
-
difficult shot... a couple of graduated neutral density filters ("stacked" per Galen Rowell's example) would have helped lighten up the foreground... BUT... AWESOME photo!
Good timing for a beautiful shot

GREAT idea! Putting the shot on top of a table with a libray/den in the background would be really cool. Personally, I would have liked different costumes for the different... ummm... pieces. Full length nightgown for the queen; pawns nude; etc... the hats on the "kings" doesn't seem to fit...Also the poses should mimic - to a degree - the different pieces.. like, I would have the poses for your "knight" & "rook" switched... HOWEVER, considering how much work & thought went into the shot... VERY NICE!!

I like the model... and I like the fabric... but this particular shot doesn't work for me... again, as mentioned above, I don't like the covered face. What would look good, I think, is a shot of her with the fabric steaming out behind her as if it is being blown off of her, exposing the beauty of her form. Maybe use a high powered fan.

good subject... except there doesn't really seem to be a central subject that says" look at me"... so the eye isn't sure where its supposed to look... perhaps a tighter vertical formatfrom a low angle would have been better... the linear aspect of the trees suggest using a vertical format... but I like the subject
-
I like the way the top portion of the photo has "different scenes" within each hole of the fence... I would suggest leaving out most of the snow foreground... the snow on the fence lets you know the time of year and conditions...
-
good sharp photo... except I wonder what that bowl thing is in the left front foreground....?
-
ummmm...its interesting... but a bit confusing...
-
grteat color... the logs that are skewering the two figures makes it look awful painful... ohhh... that is floating in the water in front of them , isn't it... would be perfect except for that

Ideally, the gull should be in the right third of the photo... but its a good shot

A bit disorienting... the repeated patterns aren't strong enough to capture one's focus... a good subject, but the perspective seems wrong... the focus and depth of field is good.

since I live in Yosemite Valley, I think I know within 10 feet the spot that you took this from! Good location spotting! Most of the people coming to Yosemite never set foot there. Its a great spot for shooting Yosemite Falls too. I was there last week.
About the photo: I like it... maybe zoom in just a touch tighter; the ends of the bridge at the edges of the photo are a bit distracting... but not much.
If you get back to Yosemite, please feel free to look me up.

I like her expression... its like she's saying: "my husband is in bed asleep and you are here taking photos of me... wanna go into the other room?"
the mattress DOES look a bit strange though...I once read of a technique where you take the same shot... but with NO mattress... just a board underneath the sheets/blankets...eliminates sag...

This photo scanned a bit darker than the origional (I'm still
learning how to get the best pictures with my scanner). In the
origional, the white of the feathers is very white and you can see
MUCH more details in the brown feathers.
This eagle is at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN. He is
an "ambassador" for the eagle rehabilitation program there. He was
shot and can't be released into the wild. If you go to Dollywood, I
HIGHLY recommend the eagle show.

Only 6' above the ground?? Wow! Good shot! I like the appearance that he is heading out of the photo to the left upper corner... it makes you wonder what the rest of the climb will be like...
You should come to Yosemite National Park, California... there are lots of climbers here... Galen Rowell started becoming well-known with his shots of Yosemite climbing...
I live in Yosemite Valley... if you make it out here... feel free to drop me an e-mail...

I LOVE the title! I agree with the above comment: a nice, playful image.
Very nice subject... what a greeting to come home to!
next time, you might pay more attention to the background... the clustered magnets near her head are a bit distracting...turning the light on above the stove would have been good too...
... but I DO like the image!
