This is the first wave of the winter chilla , that normally lasts 40 days in Cental Asia, manifested by huge fat snow flakes sticking to ya face and lens...it's layer ing incipiently growing fast on all exposed surface of man and animal alike. Few hours enroute we saw and heard pistachiio branches cracke and snap under the weight of wet and rapidly accumulating snow..

The Kakshaal Too (Kyrgyz: Какшаал Тоо, Qaqşaal Too, قاقشاال توو) is a large mountain range in the Central Tien-Shan. It stretches for a length of 582 km (in Kyrgyzstan) between Kyrgyzstan and China. The highest point in the range is Jengish Chokusu (7,439 metres (24,406 ft)).
