Well...just found out the Memory Stick isn't part of the chart :-(
-
Thanks Jeff! That is what I was looking for.
-
Sure made a search before asking but hell...couldn't find the link
anywhere.I've seen it so many times in the past but...I'm talking
about that chart by ????????? comparing the speed of different
cards.I'm curious to check it again because yesterday,in reading a
magazine,I learned(if it was right?) that a Memory Stick Pro is the
fastest memory available. It was like: MS Pro, 20 something(unit of
measurement???)compare to 12 something(unit of measurement???)for a
80X CF card. Can this be true and did somebody remember the link to
that chart? Thanks.

I would suggest you to ask your questionhere
-
From that crop,in all the reviews I have seen,it's always one of the same 3,that arrive best buy,the Minolta A2,the Sony 828 or the Olympus. http://www.dpreview.com is a good place to check-out also the http://www.steves-digicams.com site. Finally, the http://www.luminous-landscape.com is also interesting,in fact, the guy did like the A2 so much...he bought it :-)

I remember when the Kodak DSC(or is it DCS???)760 came on the market.I think it was in early 2001.It had a whopping 6.1 MP sensor and a whopping $25,000. price tag so...I guess in 3 years from now,we will have those 22MP things for about $1500.
-
Thinking about it...isn't a P&S CCD<always exposed to the light since...that is what provide you with an image on the LCD...right?
-
How about the LCD then...I'm asking this because I have spot metering on my P&S camera so,I adjust the exposure for how I like it on the LCD and then, reframe so that's why I should be real carefull not to include the sun since my exposure is lock, the diaphragm don't close down so there would be a lot of light reaching the LCD.
-
Are you talking about the new Mamiya... ZD?
-
I don't know but...shooting the direct sunlight with a digital camera isn't really healthy for the sensor...I think.Film is another story.
-
Pink(or magenta)is the color you should add to remove the green cast in a picture. When do you have a green cast in a picture?,under fluorescent tubes so I would guess your white balance is wrongly set for fluorescent.
-
That's the most common problem with these digicams.I solve mine with building(you can buy them)a viewer like this .It allows you to see what there's on the LCD without any outside light coming in and it's just like looking in the viewfinder of a film camera, your forehead is now leaning against the camera so you can brace yourself just like you've been use to years ago with your film camera. The 2 drawbacks. It protudes from the back of the camera. The image being magnify looks kind of pixelized.Maybe one last warning.Don't leave this in direct sun, with no cap on since the lupe will toast the LCD.
-
I guess they didn't have any other options since for whatever reasons, the DCS Pro SLR/c had worst reviews than the Pro SLR/n.
-
if you can find one at the store:-) Seems you can't find them yet. Here is what one guy got as an answer from KM. Dear Customer,
In response to the question that you have submitted...
Question is : When do you anticipate the 7D being available to the
dealers for sale in the US?
Answer is : Looking to have stock in by the end of the month. Would
expect the large web retailers to have the first stock available. Not
sure who will make the investment to have it on the floor at stores.
Perhaps Ritz. Samys in LA and others. Don't know which dealers until the
sales force gets out there with produce and reports to us. Great camera,
by the way.

Generally speaking,it goes with the pixels count so first choice are the MF digital back then, the new Mamiya ZD (22 MP),then the new Canon 1D's type II(16 MP),then the Kodak Pro 14 N (14 MP)then the new Nikon D2X (12 MP)then the new Fuji S3 (12 MP)then the Canon 1D's (11 MP)and so on...

This is dating from July but ...

There's nothing cutest and smaller than a Sony Qualia 016 but...at over $3,000. for 2 MP...Hum???
-
Just read that the Leica digital back(for R9) will...finally arrive
this December.
-
One suggested that this camera use the same sensor as the Nikon D70 but the dimension aren't the same,so is the effective pixel count 6.1 versus 6.0 for the Nikon(I compared the # at the Dpreview site). The D70 sensor is made by Sony.Yesterday, read an article on the D7 in Popular Photography magazine. They wrote the price believe to be between $1300. and $1500. and availability,October.
-
The actual sensor size is: 23.5 x 15.7 mm
-
As for the lens factor, they list it at 1.5X.What would you think(apart from the 2 new lenses mentionned)could be the best average AF zoom one should buy to fit the bill?
-
I agree that apart from the anti-shake and superior view finder, there's nothing unheard of in this camera but wouldn't be surprise(looking how fast they are to replace their model in the pro-sumers line)that the D7 will have a bigger brother real quick. When I did type"the latest and (final I guess)"...there's one thing that is still not final or known...the price!
