Even though I own a DSLR, I'm still hanging on with mit G3. Loving the twisting display, fast lens and using raw support more often than not. When it bites the dust (got an ugly scratch on the display this summer), I guess I've to look somewhere else than Canon.

Brian: hmm, I still think there's a hick-up with the Top-Photo galleries.
I've an image that has 14 anonymous ratings with 5.43/5.29 that only shows up with 10 ratings in the top-photos gallery. And I don't think these 4 ratings are from the last 5 minutes or so ;-)

Overall I think the recent changes to the voting system to be very positive. At least the ratings are coming in more frequent and I think also more honest than in the past.

I second above, a detailed breakdown of whom voted what is (IMO) the only feasible solution for photo.net

It keeps people honest and gives the possibilities to spot/report abusers.

More important, I like to see who rated me and then check their own portfolios to figure out if their vote is relevant for me (e.g. if they only have family shots or nothing to share at all, or if it's someone where I would love to learn from).

With the current solution the "good guys" giving written critiques or rating other shots in my portfolio are discriminated and exposed to revenge whereas the random basher can feel perfectly save.

A pitty that the top galleries become worthless with all the bot, revenge and buddy ratings. However, if you're eager for first places I think sites like digitalphotocontest.com (etc.) are the better places to begin with.
I noticed the same:
- all accounts created within the last few days
- no own photos or biography
- yahoo.com email adresses
- well distributed ratings (4.1-4.3 average, you've got a 6/6 from one)
- strange top-rated photos in their gallery

Looks like bots to me. I wonder for what means :-(
forget that "never", lets call it "seldom" ;-)
but i stay with my todays observation as reported.

I noticed, that people who rated my photos never commented them and
(even more puzzling) vice versa. Today while whatching the ratings of
my critique submission trickling in, I noticed somebody rating my
photo. When peeking at his page I noticed that he also left a
comment. Then going back to my photo, his rating disapeared.
Is it a fearure or a bug? Or is it possible to revoke ratings?
