I recently purchased the Nikon FG for class and am trying to figure

out if it has someplace to plug in a cable release. I have been unable

to find one and am wondering if anyone is familiar with the camera or

knows.

I'm looking to take a formal portrait of my dog. He's a beagel/basset

mix, white with some large black spots, 47 lb. I'd like to do it

indoor, b&w film, with a neutral grey backdrop. I'm looking for

segestions for lighting as I've never done a pet portrait and don't

want to freak him out with all sorts of flashes going off. Any

additional tips on aminal portraiture would be very helpful as well.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up getting Sigma's 24-70 which has gotten very favorable reviews, and I really enjoyed playing with in the store. It happened to be on sale (50% off!!) so it was the right lens at the right price. I'm pleased. Thanks again.

Does anyone else have color correction issues with the D100? Anyone

know how it compares to the D70? I feel like I'm constantly color

correcting and saturation my images to get the right results. Is this

common with this camera?

 

Also, I've been looking into a 28-70mm f/2.8 lense and simply cannot

afford Nikkor's version. Any preferences out there between Sigma's and

Tokina's? Comments or suggestions of any kind are appreciated. Thanks!

I've been building up my portfolio lately (<a

and model photography. I'm looking to do more work in that field. I

don't care if it's as an assistant, or the photographer. I'm wondering

if anyone has any advice on how to find said jobs, or how to market

oneself in such a way as to get those jobs. Any critique of my work

would also be useful.

Thanks for the advice. She did mention in her email that she has a very low budget. But I still think I'd rather pass (I hate wearing a suit).

I do mostly fashion and glamour photography and was recently asked by

a stranger if I could do her wedding in October. I have no idea how

they got to me, and I've never shot a wedding before (well, video, but

that doesn't count and was for a friend). I'm wondering what kind of

lighting and background equipment is needed and what's a standard

price, turnaround, # of prints, etc. Any advice or information at all

would be very useful. Perhaps I should just say no?

Is there any way to have your second compactflash card pick up its

file sequencing from where the last one left off? I'm tired of using a

number of cards on the same shoot and ending up with 200 files all

baring the same name (eg, DSC_0076). Thanks.

advertisment, portraits, etc). I was wondering if anyone out there had

any advice or stories on how to get a start, or what the career path

I live inthe LA are and am interested in getting more involved with

fashion, glamour, and model photography on a professional level. I

have no probelm working as an assistant or on my own. I'm wondering if

anyone has any advice on how to get in, how the business works, etc.

My Nikon D100 battery indicator has about 4 sections as normal

idicators do. I assume it's suppose to loose one section for every 25-

35% of battery life to give a decent sense of how much life is left.

When mine looses its first bar that means I have about 10-20 shots

left before it's dead and gone. The battery life itself is very good,

I can go a month with heavy shooting and not have to charge it. I

don't charge it until it's completely dead, either.

Has anyone else been having this problem? Is there anything I can do

in the settings to fix it?
