  1. An interesting view Dan. I recently had to return my 67II to Pentax UK - they couldn't repair it (still under warranty) and said they'd replace with a new body. They didn't have any in stock in the UK and had to get through the European HQ - they were also out of stock and I waited two months before they could get a replacement. Does make you wonder about the future availability doesn't it.
  2. See Tamron have recently announced the end of the Bronica SLRs due to

the impact of digital technology - how long before Pentax announce

the demise of the 67? Contrast the Pentax approach to that of Mamiya

who recently announced at Photokina the launch of new digital

products including a body that accepts 645 lenses. Now wouldn't it be

nice if Pentax got themselves into gear and launched something

similar for those of us with 67 lenses?! (I'm not holding my breath

    though).

  3. Hi Michael

I've returned a 67ii to Pentax UK for the second time in 18 months (it was bought new last year)for an intermittent problem where I had blank frames in different places on different rolls of film. I too use mirror up for all my shots but I'm not sure that's the problem. Anyone else out there had this problem?

Pentax found but couldn't solve my problem so (as the body is still under warranty from the first repair they tried) they've offered a replacement. Unfortunately they told me there are no new 67ii bodies in the UK or at Pentax (Europe)at the present time (I've been waiting since June). This feels like bad news for the future of the Pentax 67 system - seems like the backup/support isn't there even now.

All this doesn't directly help you I know - I'd suggest you get the camera looked over by a qualified repairer asap and hope that they can sort out for you. I wouldn't carry on shooting - I found my problem got worse over time and that led to frustration (lost shots)and a waste of time & money. Hope you get it sorted!

  4. Hi Ed

I've not had problems with a banded exposure but my 67ii has just been returned to Pentax UK with an exposure problem. On the same roll some frames are spot on and others up to 2/3 stops underexposed - same subject, same lighting & doesn't matter whether taken in Aperture Priority (using the AE II prism) or in manual. An intermittent problem like yours.

This is the second problem I've had to return it for (its only 15 months old) - was (and still is) prone to giving me completely blank frames mid roll for no apparent reason.

    Think I'll trade it in!!

Sorry this doesn't help you but I wondered if we had company in having a bum Pentax 67 camera?

    All the best

    Steve

  5. No answer i'm afraid but I've got a relatively new 67II (6 months old) and have put about 20 films through it. On 2 of them i've had comletely blank frames in the middle of the roll - all been taken using a cable release and with the mirror locked up. Sounds like the same problem (?)or were the problems referred to above with the old 67 m/up version?
