Its a nice image but the presentation is too stylized for my taste. The creative border is a distraction.

Unfortunately reducing the sky in post processing would also mean reducing the tree. I'm just worried that the whole tree element in this composition would not work if its bare dancing limbs were removed. I do regret however not having an oppotunity to reshoot this scene with a higher elevation.

Given the uniqueness of the location, its hard to make an original looking wide angle image of the Grand Canyon. All images look about the same. I had hoped that a bit of shadow would give this image perhaps a little bit of distinction at the expense of detail as a painter would probably make use of negative space.

I went to see the grand canyon knowing that this is a particularly challenging location for photographers because of their incredible size. On a wide angle the compelling details are lost and on a zoom the details are removed from their larger context and appear ordinary. Its sometimes a challenge to find ways to these images a sense of scale. I appriciate the comment from your father.

Petey,
Thanks for your comment :).. I appriciate your time/interest. As I mentioned I don't expect this style to be popular. Personally I really liked this pic because its at the very least a nice pic of my wife.
I'll admit its not a landscape (the options were limited in the genre selection box) but I don't agree that its a snapshot because the composition is fairly uncluttered & strict.
However I do support your directness at speaking against people who use this forum to hoard snapshots.
Thanks again.

What do you think about this type of composition.. where the subject
and landscape are given equal representation.
I would appriciate some feedback about this style of compostion
where subject and landscape are given equal representation in the
image.
This appeals to me but I am rarely have the popular taste. All
comments will be appriciated.
Thanks

Thanks Amar, I could not do very much with the sunrise becuase the dust on my sensor becomes very noticable at small appertures. I wonder if you have experienced this problem and have found a solution.

Hi Amar :).. Its wonderful to have a comment from you. I am trying not to be too excited.

Thanks Suchitra :).. I'm off to the Grand Canyon in a week to do some more photography.

Still looks a bit busy.. Why not try cropping out from the other side?

A two thirds composition is also known as 'rule of thirds'. Painters swear by this composition technique.. Its quite common for photographers too. Google 'Rule of Thirds' to find more info.

Another nice image.. however I would have tried a 2/3 composition on this one.

Stunning contrast on this image. Bravo.. would not change a thing.

I thought this was an interesting photograph. Good moment, wonderful expressions but I wonder why you have so many lens shake problems. Unfortunately I have never heard of any post processing trick that can fix a fuzzy image. The only thing you can do is to reduce the resolution with a bicubic filter till the COC becomes acceptable. (IE. Shrink the image till the blurr is gone).
I know that natural light is hard to control and being a film shooter, I realise you have limited control over ISO but I would highly recommend getting a tripod before going on your next trip.

The Biography is quite nice now. Perhaps a nice pic of urself to accompany it would make a difference. We are looking forward to see your photography develop :)..

Kallol, Nice sharp capture however the excessive color saturation during suggests a post processing fixation. During post processing fix the obvious flaws then take a step back and decide where to draw the line.
