Here's a link on how to check inifinity focus indoors: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-123.html

The adapter is called MR-9. Here is the link .
It is reported to work in only a limited range of EV in the Nikon F (see here ) but I don't have or didn't notice a problem with my CL.

Hexanon 35/2 is an excellent lens and I didn't have a problem with it on my M2. My only gripes are its size (huge compared to Summicron 35 and big enough to block a bit of the 35mm frame) and the screw-in hood. I, too considered Ultron but decided against it because of the 0.9m min. focusing distance.

Slightly off topic but how do you adjust distance for focus-recompose error? If I focus on the subject using the patch in the center and then recompose tilting the camera, I would get a back-focused shot because focusing distance is the distance to a plane parallel to the film plane.

Sherry does.

I sent my M3 to CRC-Luton for resilvering and close-focus adjustment.
Here's what Peter told me.

---------------------------------------

It is not possible to extend the range down to 0.7 meter .
There are basically four versions of the M3 rangefinder , all with different configurations . The first two had separate field lenses and the second 2 had the field lens cemented to the main bock .The
reason why it can't be done is simply that the moving optic ( which operates when the cam is moved ) hits the side of the top-plate (inside) before it can reach the 0.7 meter position .

Your rangefinder has the field lens cemented to the block . On other
versions , with this lens as a separate item , it can be adjusted allowing the shorter focussing distance to be acheived before the optic reaches the inside wall of the top-plate.

------------------------------------------

So it seems that there are versions that can reach 0.7m and that cannot.
BTW, Mine is a DS with European shutter speed dial.

She does have a web page now at http://sherrykrauter.com.

I have the same problem. I checked that I have Adaptec ASPI 4.60 installed on my computer but Nikonscan complains that it cannot find the scanner. Here's the message I get" "The device module reports that no device can be detected".
The scanner does appear on the hardware list but with a question mark besides it and Windows tries to find driver every time it boots up.
Is there anything I have to do on top of installing ASPI driver?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
