    Homeless

          10

Mr. E. Short:  This is equivalent to taking a picture of a disabled homeless person on the street of New York or San Francisco and posted in some amateurish public forum of China or Russia.

This picture not only has no artistic merit but totally lack of compassion.  Rumor has it that children had often been kidnapped, had their arms and legs chopped off and put on streets in tourist areas to beg by Chinese mafia types.  This person appeared to have lost both legs and sits on a wheeled platform.  The photo missed  the most important part of his narrative about himself written on the filthy ground.

By the way, this is not calligraphy which is written with ink and a brush pen in a continuous stroke.  He used chalk but drawing to make the characters look like it was calligraphy.  He may be a person with some artistic talent and was taught to write since the writing conformed to certain classical styles of calligraphy.  The sentences read from left to right written in the original complex Chinese (please don't call it Kanji unless you think you are Japanese) form not the simplified Chinese later adopted in main land China. He may be psychologically damaged.

    It rambles:

    Wish your family's eternal happiness.

    Make millions each season.

Your children and grand children become genius, excel both in arts, literature and the marshall arts. Passed the Imperial Exam and becoming the emperor's son in law.

    Business prospers.

    Double happiness arrives.

My humble self is from west river province...(name of the city missing from picture)

    I originally was also (a millionaire?) ...

Rest of the stuff not in the photo.
