  1. hey mr. steve I was cheking out your gallery, pretty nice(im also 16). what kind of scanner you got? I bought a scanner and i returned it because of the terrible color even after post processing :( Plus, it had software issues with my PCMCIA usb 2.0 card on my laptop. It took like 1 hour to scan 4 pics and they all looked terrible even after messing with color balance and tons of USM. btw... some of the older digicams do have some pretty bad shutter lag even after prefocusing.
  2. Last time I used the search function i was reading a post about the

settings for USM in PS that were written in a book. I can't seem to

find that same posting even though I have used the search feature so

many times. Can someone help me out or link me? I also read this

webpage that talked about applying 50% 1.4 continually until

acceptable sharpness. Is that a decent way to do things? :P I just

got a scanner and am trying to get acceptable images.

  3. er... i would recommend the g3 over the g5, but not by much. both cameras aren't that good with CA anyways. also, where are you going to find a reputable dealer with a good price for the g3. nowhere. they don't make those things anymore. so if you get the g3, its going to be used or a ripped off price.
  4. do you have any FULL sample images of 35mm film? that would be really cool. and also do you have any full samples from other cheaper flatbed film scanners? :D ive been having trouble finding good examples to help me decide which scanner i want to get. i will be using the scanner for 35mm negatives and mostly for web and maybe 5x7 because eveyrone says 8x10 is stretching it. im in the 200 dollar price range.
  5. I heard some pretty bad stuff about the canon 75-300 Non-Is lens. I

was wondering how useful the lens is if I only use it to 75-200mm. I

    own a canon elan 7 and a 50mm 1.8II lens. Thats it :( I don't know

how these zooms work. Im just a kid, so i can't afford all the

expensive stuff. Im thinking about persuading my parents to give me

the 28-105mm, the good one, and something a bit longer.

  6. hm... i use a microfiber cloth, and if it is too oily, i moisten the cloth a bit or use my breath. that seems to remove the oils. unless u have a "super oily" noise.lmao. i don't think its good idea to mess around with chemicals. watch it eat right throw your camera :D just kiddin. just get a microfiber cloth. you will be impressed.
  7. ehem... Canon Elan 7. cheap, for only 300 bucks + 200-300 for film scanner + lenses (50mm 1.8II for 70 bucks) woohoo. Cheap ASs quality. plus you can get wide angle for cheap. the 28-105mm f3.5 is only 220 after shipping. film is alive i say :D, and im a teenager.
