Thank you both for the comments. Howard, could you describe in words your adjustments to me? I've looked at your attachment and I'm not sure I'm seeing the changes. I did try some lightening/sharpening on the eye and liked the result. Thanks again for the feedback.

An all time great photo.

Nice composition & colors. The lone tree under the lone cloud may create a sense of isolation for some, friendship/partnership for others. In either case, the shot evokes emotion. My only comment is that there is faily heavy cloud shadow evident on the ground but the sky appears to be mostly clear.

Very nice effect. The thumbnail drew me in -- "what the heck is that?" Upon seeing the enlargement, I still had to "process" for a second to understand what was going on. I like the tension added by the fork balancing on its side, the choice of textured cloth, the even focus and lighting on the cloth, the shadow softening nicely with distance from the fork, the strong light reflections on the fork that add "energy" and full grayscale to the photo, and the overall spacing/composition. Well considered choice of fork as well -- in so far as shadows are so often metaphor for evil, the transformation of a common fork into something demonic (pitchfork at top, curled tail at bottom) adds sizzle (pun intended) to the photo.

I appreciate all the feedback. I did in fact take several "normal" photos of this model but who wants to see normal on photo.net? I was intrigued by the waterfall-like effect of the hair and the "mystique" of a veiled face. But I think the consensus is that the hair, if to be used like this at all, should have been less. Thanks again for the comments!
