At the last photokina, Rollei was displaying a modified Dual P with a 590W Halogen lamp. The company doing this is called Gebuhr in Germany. I'm not sure if they only sell new or if they also modify old ones.
I don't remember the price, except that it was quite high...

Thanks all!
Makes me feel better already about the purchase.
I'll be comparing it to my little CV 4/21 the next few days.
Thanks again, Ben

I just purchased one of these second hand and, being a bit paranoid,
have one question regarding this lens.
Fully open, at f2.8, looking through the front element, I can still
see parts of the aperture-blades, i.e. they don't completely "retract".
Is that normal??
Many Thanks!

Hi Jerry,
have a look at

That should clear things up.

Hi Matt
I would go with Wing Shing. They are a little bit cheaper then Photo Scientific and really the best deal in HKG for film as far as I can tell (note that they quote cash-prizes; bit more expensive if you pay by credit card). They also sell memory cards, but I'm not sure if you could get them cheaper somewhere else; if you have time, you could check the big computer centres in Sham Shui Po.
Color Six doesn't sell film anymore.
Cheers, Ben

Cameron,
you change perspective by using your feet, and framing by changing the focal length, not the other way around.

Thanks Danny
that's too bad. I guess the way around it then, is to sacrifice one frame if the camera has been sitting around for a while. No big deal really.
No idea about the electric contacts.

I am looking at getting either the 645N or the 645 NII. There appears
to be a large difference in the second-hand price between the two, and
the only thing that really makes me want to get the II is the ability
to expose 15 frames instead of 16; I'm a bit paranoid about film
flatness. So the question - is it possible to convert the 645N so that
it takes 15 rather then 16 frames?

I also was pleasantly surprised at Japanese airports in general and Narita in particular; no problems with hand inspections for film. I just wish other countries had security personnel like that.

Hey Jake,
as a German, I feel I have to jump in here. We Germans take our humour very seriously - it's not a laughing matter.

Maybe it's just me, but I find that by eliminating the option of having colour, I end up with better results. It's - for me - a bit like just taking one lens; that also frequently leads to better photographs for me. Maybe it helps (me) better to focus on what's important if a few variables, like colour or B&W and focal length, have already been fixed.

Thanks Sandy,
very generous!

Question: Where can CLA my M6 in Hong Kong?
in Leica and Rangefinders

Another vote for Mr. Lee/Panda Repair in Stanley Street.
Otherwise - but a lot more $$$ - you can give it to Schmidt - local Leica rep.
