  1. You're off to a great start. You can see that light is the true subject here, regardless of what is in front of the camera. Only suggestion is to remove the fence rail from the bottom of the photo and decenter the sun slightly more next time. Your exposure was right on and the focus was good. Try more like these and post them.

    An early fall snow blankets the area around Peyto Lake in Banff

    National Park, Canada. I was here early one morning after three

    straight days of snow when it was just turning from summer to fall

    in 2006. Photo was shot from a tripod.

    Trying to capture the mood of the scene here in Jasper National

    Park. Kind of suggesting the approach of winter as the emotional

    theme of the picture. Any thoughts?
