Don't forget it may be possible to rent as opposed to buy a lens, if your "project" isn't ongoing. By the way...IMO Tokina, even Tamron, uuhhhgggg. Thats probably your problem right there....just my Op. GL

IMO, the 625 button cell is the answer. I own and use several old SRT's and have had little trouble finding batts. for them. Also an intresting note, I find even though I constantly forget to shut off the meter, sometimes for days on end, I still get 6 mos. or so out of my batt. I nice change from my Maxxum 5, which chews right through em. Have fun with that old film burner!!!

Kudo's for asking about a truly great camera from the 70's !!(I.M.O.) As an owner of several older Minolta's, I can pass on some more info for you. The SRT-101 is a solid camera, accepting most MC, and MD Minolta lenses, and it is still possible to buy some vintage glass through the used dept. of B+H, and other used equip. dealers. I started out with an SRT-201, basically the same thing you have w/out the mirror lock up. So if you can find another SRT, I'd say go for it. You should be able to find one for less than $100 in working condition. However, some folks on E-bay/ Yahoo auctions will list em as expensive "classic" camera's. Make sure the meter works in these cameras, it's a common problem w/ gear that old.(batts. ect get left in em and leak)Also look for the 101,201 202 and others w/ the Minolta break though "CLC" meters. The contrast light compensation metering is even more accurate, but don't forget these older cameras have a truely center-weighted metering pattern.Hope this helps and enjoy those older film burners !!
