For years I have used Sigma lens on my Canon EOS bodies. I currently use a 1DMk2 N and and 20D. With these I have used (an abused sometimes) a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 shooting motocross and other sports. recently it started giving problems with over and under exposing images, although the exif data stays the same in each image.
< p>I took it into the Sigma importer here in Australia and they repaired the lens replacing a component. After t he repair the lens is causing less trouble but still over exposes images by at least 1 stop. It also sometimes w hen I shoot a burst of shots with the 1D it may lock the exposure down and way under expose a shot.
< p>Anyway has anyone had these issues with a well used Sigma lens?
I certainly can't complain about the life span of the lens as it may have shot 50,000+ shots (mainly MX) an d mainly in dusty environments.
Secondly has anyone used a 100-400 4.5-5.6 Canon L series lens?
It is one I am considering as a replacement. How new is this lens?
Of course I am also considering a 70-200 f2.8 L series as well but given finances are sh ort I am not sure it is a viable option at the moment.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
