i dont shoot digital . but the m series are far better built from

stronger materials. the focusing rings on m lenes are smother

,tighter action. a series becomes sloppy. A SERIES zooms just

dont compair to m.,, m series were designed for superiour

camera models such as mx and lx when pentax was at its hight..

the a series were made for middle market cameras. but with an

a series you have more exposure options on the digital camera.

remember that 50mm is not a standard lens on digital.

you have no worries if items are in good condotion .i worked for

15 years with spotmatics and m42 lenses long after they had

been discontinued. they never broke down once. the lenses are

as sharp as any. you have a classic system that will serve you

well as long as they make film
