I love the light and the colors... but I would respect it more if it was mostly natural, i.e. unmanipulated.
-
I like the crazy angle and defect on the right, which looks like a
lens flare but I think is a reflection of the camera in the window of
the plane. This was an amazing sunset over the mountains.
-
but it's actually an airport. definitely looks like a mall, though.
-
OK, the title is probably pretentious & stupid, but I like the reindeer. And the look on this
woman's face. C-41 film scanned in color.

Got an Elph for Xmas. I like the bars of light & shadow in this one.
-
It's a car antenna, I could try to clone it out. I agree it is distracting.

Thank you Agnes - it's so nice to hear someone actually likes what I'm doing. I had begun to feel very discouraged about the technique.
My favorites are not that representative of what I like, mostly because no one else is doing the kind of photos I'm interested in.

OK, stupid title I admit, but I didn't want to call it "Untitled
#21". The image quality on this is less than I'd like - I was playing
around with the camera settings - but I love the glare effect and
shadow on the lawn.
-
Foreground lightened considerably with PS fill flash. I like the artifacts introduced by the
camera around the corner of the building and in the trees. Also the almost warped fisheye
feeling of the lens.

I like the texture of the water, but the composition could be better. (Stupid ducks! The ones on the left that're halfway in the frame are distracting.)
-
Yeah, the film was deteriorated - I did not develop it until 2003. And it is a B&W neg scanned in color, hence the brown toning. But I kind of like that about it. I guess my biggest problem with it is that it's kind of flat. I wonder if making it darker and punching up the contrast would help.
-
I go back and forth on this one - I like what it says but I'm not so convinced of its worth as
a photo. Comments welcome.

Thanks Andrew! I use an HP Scanjet 4470c, but actually I don't recommend it that highly - it likes to introduce horizontal green lines into the scans for no apparent reason. But considering I'm borrowing it from work for free, it's not so bad.

Mildly interesting to me because it captures this moment in time. (Whether or not it's an
interesting moment is up in the air.) But that freeze-frame quality and the slanting
buildings on the right are what I like about it.

I like the dreamy afternoon light in this one...
-
Ahh, delightfully orange. Apocalypse, anyone?

You are not alone in thinking that. Pretty much everyone agrees with you. I know it is extreme, but I need to do it - I am aiming for something here, I'm not quite sure exactly what it is, but this is one step along my path to reaching it. I can't explain it yet, but eventually I hope to get it right.

This picture makes me so sad for him. I feel like this man is a cousin to the one making the phone call in "Phone Home" - telling his family he won't make it home that night. Then this is him the next morning, having slept in the airport bar, waiting for his red eye flight.

I like it a lot but I would make it a bit brighter, needs a touch more contrast in my opinion. But I love the columns and the light. Nicely done!
