  1. It depends on your resolution. If you use 72 X 48 inches image during processing you will require a DPI of at least 150 or more to ensure that there are not much pixelling. You will of course need to process it with a computer that has lots of RAM i.e. 2 GB to 4 GB to ensure smooth transition during your workflow. There are many independent print shops which can print large format with 3rd party inks and different kinds of photo paper but sometimes there will be colors shift over time or when exposed to sunlight. The best will be like what Ellis said. I used a lab which has the Durst Lambda system as it provides the best color and has archival professional photo papers.
  2. I just completed a travel book on Vietnam and I like to share it with you guys. Any comments will be appreciated.

I did collaborate with agencies for many other Annual Reports and Company brochures but these are my own special

    projects. A labor of love.

I'm still drafting the Vietnam book and adding more pages. It'll probably be ready within a week or so. This

    will be

followed by books on other countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, India so any comments will be appreciated as a

publisher is keen to market it.

  3. I know many Canon owners have adaptor mounts for using Nikon lenses but not the other way around. Canon is more renown for their longer lens whereas Nikon wide angle lens are presumably the best in the market. I use Canon, Hasselblad and Nkon systems but I prefer Nikon during travel, interior and street photography as I use Nikon's Creative Lighting System a lot. i.e. shooting multiple strobes wirelessly.

If you want value for money both Canon and Nikon lenses are good but go for the FF lenses as DSLR cameras will be heading that way and the value will drop for DX lenses. Before buying lenses it will be wise to also look at their ratings in Camera reviews and http://www.photodo.com/. It reviews all types of quality lenses. Enjoy your passion.

  4. I note a lot of guys here are retired and taking up Photography as a way out of boredom? Hmmmmmmmm. Guess I also included in the boat guys.

Been a corporate road warrior covering Asia Pacific for more than 30 years working with distributors, agent and subsidiary offices. Always dabbled in photography emailing product shots and such. So it is a natural progression to concentrate on my passion after I left the rat race.

Lovin' it so far, stopping to smell the roses and getting paid. What more can a person ask for?

  5. Welcome to the club! I have many images lifted into blogsites and the like this way but normally with credit given. There is only one Italian consultant firm which daringly displayed my image as the first page in their website. How can people trust and do business with them after that? As usual no replies after I contacted them and it too tedious to follow up legally with another country.

Just type out your full name Jodie-andrefiski, in Google search and you'll be amazed how many did it.
