  1. Aileen,

There was no post-processing, and I was using Fuji Velvia 100. It usually does have a bluish cast, in my experience, but only when there is already a dominant blue in the scene, so far as I can tell. I remember the hemlock foliage exactly as depicted, though the moss on the left might have actually been a more saturated green -- an artifact, perhaps of having to overexpose that outcrop to meter on the canyon. Thanks for your question and consideration.

Such gorgeous images all over your portfolio. It really is one of the most interesting portfolios I've seen recently. I think I might have one or two pictures you might possibly like but after seeing yours, I wonder if I've gone far enough into pure aesthetics.
  2. Thanks, Bill, for taking the time to provide such a nice articulation of your preference. I do like the suggestion. I actually shot it in B & W also, but wasn't as lucky with the cloud formation. My preference is for the color, in part because I am a sucker for the slight ruddy tone of the tree tendrils against the polarized green. Still, I value your comment very much. Thank you.

    after you.

That's pretty good. I could see it in an art book. All it needs is an intriguing caption like, "From a Series of Naked Meteorologists," or "Rembrandt Revisited."

The slight wide-angle distortion catapults the image into an imaginary world, were gentle dustings of snow under perfect skies emanate their own light. Very beautiful.
