I almost made my mind on it (Metz). I'll let you know.

I am on the point to invest in a flash unit for my Canon 350D. My

dealer, and photog companion, insists to aquire a Metz unit vs the

Canon 580EX. His main argument being the possibility to change the

module and adapt it to other brand's cameras. He also insisits on a

more accurate auto exposure and ease to use. Some other friends have

concerns about the bult quality vs canon.

Any thoughts?

The trade is no more available. Though it wasn't my friend to trade it. My friend has this reparing shop and told me that he will sell it for more than what I will pay for a Nikon FM2 and lens. He said I might regret later. I will give him my Zeiss and see if there are any offers. Maybe I can buy a Nikon F80 :)

The guy that gave me the camera told me he paid 50$ (he bought it in Romania) and it was broken. He knows nothing about photography but he liked how it looks.

Neither do I about Zeiss cameras!!! I helped him to buy some acupuncture needles from China and then I went to his place. "What a nice camera!" I said. "You like it? Then take it". This is how I got it...

Thank you very much for your answers. My friend fixed the camera and yesterday we took a 120 roll and shoot some pics. The lens are Novar 1:6.3 and the shutter is Telma. Actually the camera came with some kind of adapters and I can shoot 120 films. I am no sure about the quality of the pictures but having the cosmetics done the camera is a beauty! ... I have just received as a gift this beauty Zeiss Ikonta 520/15. The

shutter is broken. My friend that ows a repairing cameras shop he

said he will try his best. Though I heard that is very to find this

format 6 1/2 X 11. I would be very happy to have some advices on how

this camera works or other details. Thank you very much.
