Durango, CO - a fabulous train ride!
-
From our SW trip this summer with new Cannon SD400.
-
Kevin, you might try this is a high contrast black and white rendition.
Great stuff . . .
-
Tom, the 45/Pentax 67 combo is fabulous, you captured that classic out west road composition with skill. Only thing I can criticize is the visible grain - what film/dev combo are you using?
-
-
Classic Tri-X look.
-
The Pentax 67 45mm lens is one of the very best in all of MF. I enjoy all of your work.
-
Kevin, great shot as always. You may want to try a verticle crop to minimize the space to the left of the boat. The strenght of this composition is retaining the full dynamic range with the cloud over the sun and the shadow behind the boat. The photo reminds me of an old abandoned boat I used to play on when I was a kid. I imagined I would sail off to distant shores.
-
Actually I like the clouds where they are, combined with the rising rolling hill there is an impression of something just over the horizon. Most other compositions I would agree that the clouds would be too low.
Kevin, you are one of my favorite contributers and this is one of your best submission yet.

Josep, wonderful rendition, classic look, nice pastel colors. Perhaps you could discuss your workflow in PS to get this look.
Thanks

Beauty within simplicity - bravo!
-
very appealing composition and color/lighting. Personally, I do not like the borders, they detract from the overall picture.
-
You've perfected the wide angle MF landscape look. Masterful, subtle, and so much detail!
-
Sensuous and intimate. That 135mm with the Pentax67 works quite well for your portraits.
-
Frank, I like the composition and mood. I find the border and frame distracting, though.
-
At first I didn't like the low contrast, muddle gray overall rendition. But after looking at it for a while, it's one of those photo's that just gets better the more you view it. Thanks for sharing your work.

Reminds me of Michael Kenna's work.

The wide angle really works for this composition. Personal preference would be a little more contrast. Enjoyed your portfolio, thanks for sharing.

The expansive look of the clouds and the near/far depth of field of the rocks and water work well in this composition. Only minor point is the very slight distortion of the horizon. Too bad the Pentax doesn't have rise/fall correction.

Nana, the only minor point I can criticize are the slightly blown out highlights which may be due to the scanning process. I love that sweeping wide angle look - hard to do well, you seem to be a master. Thanks for sharing your work.
