Days before the baby came. My first posed portrait session. Thanks
for looking, and for any advice.

Well done! Great work lining up the trees with the sun so that the darker/less exposed areas don't require much detail to show through. The low cloud/mist is fantastic too.

Very very new to posed and set up pictures. Obviously I'm not using
standard studio lighting, but I really liked the washed out effect
for this shot. To be sure, it was a complete disaster in many
others. I'd love to hear thoughts on lighting in general, and if
you think "super lit" subjects are ever a good idea. Thanks!

Way to take advantage of the opportunity Joseph! I love this park, and always find myself wishing I had a larger wide angle lens every time I get up into the mountains. The wisps of cloud immediately in the foreground are a great touch. My only suggestion would be to have shot a little to the right, assuming that was possible, to minimize the shadowed portion. Enjoy your hikes and photos!

I try to post for critique shots that I think are amongst my best.
Since I'm still entirely an amateur, I'd love to hear what sorts of
things I could do to improve. Thanks for your time.

Excellent timing, composition, and focus. I love well lit elements in front of a dark sky, and you grabbed a magnificent scene under such conditions. Cheers!

Thanks for looking. I'm a total amateur, so any advice is
appreciated. Thanks for your time and comments!

This is a shot taken by almost everyone who visits the park with a
camera, and I hoped to acheive at least a small amount of
originality by including the dead tree, and shooting right before
sundown. Thanks for looking, and thanks for any advice.

Still pretty new to this, so all advice is welcome. My main problem
with this was trying to get long range exposure right during
overcast conditions. I'd love any advice on this, as well as any
other aspect of the photo. Thanks for looking!

Just my opinion, but I'd probably crop the bottom up to jsut below the white ridge. I love the flat foreground and the framing of the clouds. Great shot.
-
Fantastic shot! I would recommend cropping a little off the top, but that's just me. Well done!

Everyone should have a wedding picture of this quality. Fantastic.
-
WOW! What an opportunity! Fantastic that you made the most of it too. I love the placement of the track. Brilliant work.
-
My main question is: How much cloud cover is too much? Should I
crop the top here? Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated as
I'm still a beginner.

I've just started working on "people" pictures, so any advice is
appreciated.

I like to post my favorite pictures for critique so I can learn to
improve things that I probably didn't think of at the time. Aside
from a little bit of cropping on the left side, what do you think
could have been done to improve this scene? I'd especially like to
hear from other people who do nature/mountain photography. Thanks
for your time.
