A cheap option that I went for was the Sunpak DX12R- not a true pro ringflash but if you are

looking for a cheaper alternative it could be worth considering. Good for head shots and

probably from the waist up on not too long a lens. They retail for $250. Guider number is 12

in metres with 100asa, thats 40 feet or so. You buy seperate modules depending on the

camera you have. I use mine on Nikon 35mm, my ETRsi and even my 5x4.

Hi all,

Just had my SB-800 returned from Nikon UK after being repaired for the very same thing,

cost all in all with postage came to ?50, which is about $90 roughly.

Mind you, it took them a month to do it!
