Wonderful! I especially like the reflection of the tree above, seen in the water drop. How are you getting these shots handheld at 1/60?? Are you a surgeon?? :)

Great composition. I noticed you are using the ef 100 f/2.8 macro now. Certainly makes low light situations work, plus incredible sharpness. It's also apparent you know how to really use the lens!

I have to confess that I just bought your Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 (DL) Macro after viewing this and some of you other shots. I found it on ebay for $125 including shipping! Can't beat that. :)

 

I checked out the Tamron 180mm for upwards of $600/700. The Canon was well over $1000.

 

Anyway, great shot! You got me really excited about doing macro again. I also love the idea that you could use your onboard flash effectively (or hotshoe)since you can be close to a yard away from your subject. It looks like you used a flash for this shot. It's a must especially for that focal length.

 

What kind of flash did you use? Onboard only?

I'm wondering if I can get away with onboard only once I start using my lens.

 

How far away from these beautiful horny creatures were you??
