First time hummer photo. I have a feeder right outside my kitchen window and was able to photgraph with the window open. The flash washed out some of the colors. I 'll have to work on that next year when they come back.

I have a Sigma 24mm that I use with a Maxxum 5. It is a tad noisy but like Miguel said, it is an excellent lens for the money. Two thumbs up as well.

Try <a href="http://www.digikey.com">Digikey<a> or <a href="http://www.mouser.com">Mouser<a>. Both should have what you need.

I agree with Manuel. Page 49 in the Maxxum 5 user manual clearly states how to use the remote control if you have the remote control model. If you press the self-timer button three times and a remote control appears on the lcd display, then you have a remote control model. It doesn't matter if you have a "Date" or "Standard" model.

I picked up used sigma 24mm "superwide II" f/2.8 as it was cheaper than the minolta. I was unsure if I would like the wider view compared to 28mm but I'm glad I purchased it. The lens is solidly built and a little noisy while focusing but it is a great addition to my small lens collection.

I was wondering the same thing. Couldn't you adjust the power level manually and achieve the same effect?
