A big thank you to Eric Sande, whose suggestion worked. I took out three

screws from the bottom plate and there was revealed a lever which can be

pushed aside to allow the advance to be reset normally. Thanks Eric, you

saved me $200! So much for all the doomsayers who warned me no-touchy!

This is a fairly new FM2n body but I may have advanced the last frame on the

roll too aggressively because the firm tore from the can and the advance lever

and shutter are now jammed. Nikon repair shop wants $200 to fix it. What is

involved in fixing this? Can I do it myself?

Bought a Nikon FM2n mechanical body new in late 2001 but for various

reasons did not use it until recently, so it's out of warranty. On the third roll of

film the winder jammed; shutter will not release, winder will not wind. Nikon

repair shop wants $200 to fix it. Is there some trick I can use myself to unjam

it?
