1.
Thanks Tim i will read that.. and yes S. its exactly what i think.. i already own Photoshop.. a upgarde for me cost 250$ for 2 years (before i upgrade again for another version) .. this new way will cost me 360$ a year (its 20$ a month now, but will go back to 30$/month after that) .. so basically it could cost me 720$ for 2 years.. non sense.

And for those that think that this will stop piracy.. Adobe said the same thing 10 years ago with CS1 when you needed to contact them online for registration.. it took less than a month to get a pirate to prove them wrong...

Im a heavy Photoshop user, 40hres + a week, 11 month a years ... for the past 13years... and yes i NEED to upgrade to the next version for multiple reason as a professional retoucher.

 2.
.. and i must say taht for the whole suite if you need it, its kind of a good deal honestly.. at 600$ year.. but for Photoshop alone, a 250$ once for upgrade vs 240$/year.. each year is kind of absurd!.. of course, if you dont own the software at all .. 20$ a month is a good deal since it cost around 800$ to start.

Can they propose a better price for existing owner?... like 10$/month .. that will bring the price of a regular update vs a rent about the same price ; )

 3.
by owned i mean it cost me 250$ once and i can decide to upgrade or not at any given moment IF i feel the need.. (i know you dont really owned the software if you read the EULA..)

But by asking to pay 20$ each month IF you want your software to work is non sense. Of course, you can simply just pay for a month .. dont pay for 3month, then repay another month and so on.. tahts good for part time user.. but for people who work with it i kind of feel like they screw me.

Understand that 20$/month if for 1 software only pay annually.. the whole suite is 50$/month base on a yearly contract.

 4.
I cant imagine having to *rent* my software all my life... i pay for them for every version out there if i feel for it ( in my case, Photoshop is always up to date) . They are mine.. not just a renting piece of software.

I dont know what Adobe is thinking doing so.. but according to more than 2000 complain on another site in less than 24hre.. i think im not alone.
heres something you can sign, and maybe they will rethink to another solution ..

 5.
magcloud and blurb are 2 differents beast... one is hard cover book, book that you can be sell as high end portfolio... the other is more magazine oriented kind of style.. Pricey? i can get a 7x7 hard cover, 160page on there high end paper deliver to my house for something like 70$... The same thing in Toronto would cost me 3-4x more $.. and im not even talking about what i can have in Montreal .. its close to be not decent to talk about how much it could cost for the same thing.
25% off? im in!

 6.
i have done it myself with regular tripod, daylight source (be cautious not to cast any shadow) if you use a window for example, you can simply put a piece of lee filter silk in front off to create a huge softbox... a decent lens, frame tight enough and IF you feel the need a polarizer to cut off reflection (should be any reflection if you are perfectly on top of the image).. but depending of your angle you might not need one. Time to setup the original rig... 5min. To find the best angle.. 5min... then one after the other clic clic clic .... and you get yourself a pretty nice result that you can many time enlarge to whatever format your digicam can give you in term of pixel.

 7.
Lightroom is a far better choice for many, and Element is a super side kick.. regular for both is less than 250$... i can imagine that as a student you can get a even more better deal. Stop wasting your time with free software, and get what people use normally, as a personal or professional tool...just a suggestion of course ; )

 9.
Unfortunatly William, i dont really need to see the photo to tell you this; its a hard technique, and if you are not at ease with Photoshop.. it will not only be a hard thing to do, but it could be a imposible thing to do. Of course, it all depend of your level of quality, and the result needed.. for most, it work perfectly..

Maybe if you like the result that the qucik selection have done, maybe use a hue saturation adjustment layer + mask and desaturate the green foliage with the bursh.. and by using the stamp tool at some lower opacity you can probably paint over some hairs and make it look more natural...
