  1. <p>Hi Vasilily,</p>

    <p>It is appeared later that this particular problem with my lovely Rolley SL66 SE wasn't due to the light meter disorder but because I left field preview knob on. However, I could definitely recommend Mr. Krimar service (NJ, USA) for light metering service once I was using him for the same at my other, Rolleflex 3.5f TLR camera. And, of course Mr. Jürgen Kuschnik from Germany is very skilled and reliable serviceman too for any other more significant Rollei issues. Both of them are highly experienced and recommended Rollei technicians.<br>

    Good luck!</p>

  2. <p>Hi Edward,<br>

    <br /> Can't tell you much about 15omm since I didn't get a chance to use this lens yet. However, I own both Schneider Xenotar 80mm f/2.8 PQS HFT AF and Schneider Apo-Symmar 90 mm f/4 HFT PQS. What can I say about these lenses? Their both are real gem and well build, 90mm is huge, 80mm is small and very convenient on the road. Both lenses are very sharp but 90mm APO, imho is extremely sharp. The colors rendering is quite good and I didn't notice much difference in between. My 80mm has auto-focus but in fact I don't use AF anyway so there is no difference for me over here. f/2.8 is quite helpful in low-light conditions but again, using tripod should be your answer. The only thing I observe about 80mm I don't like much is not that interesting bokeh - it is not that bad but is not charming.<br>

    <br /> In fact, besides the f/2.8, AF and ability to retro-mounting I do not see any good reason favor my 80mm. Wish to have new Xenotar 80mm f/2 build for Hy6 - it has much-much pleasant bokeh but this is way too expensive.<br>

    You will find many samples taken by these two lenses on my site <a href="http://www.olegmoiseyenko.com/">www.OlegMoiseyenko.com</a><br>

    I hope it helps.<br /> Good luck!</p>

  3. <p>The expose meter at my Rollei SL66SE Exclusive Professional seems off (it was warking fine till now and suddenly stops working; the battery is not the issue). I live in NJ, USA and looking now for a good place in US (preferable) or Europe (will ship if no other trustee place found) where it might be fixed. Would somebody please recommend me with a such place? Is that a common problem with SL66SE, is it repairalbe no (my camera was made at 1992) and for how much?<br>

    Thank you in advance, folks!</p>

  4. Hi Eric,

    <br><br>

    Here you are simple solution (not the best one but this would not require purchasing MasterControl unit for camera reprogramming): first, please make settings global reset; secondly, try to engage the expose lock switch every time you want to keep camera awake longer.

    <br><br>

    Hope this helps!

    <br>Kind regards,

    <br>Oleg

  5. Hello, folks!

    <br><br>

    I wonder if anybody could tell me where I can rent <i>Zeiss Distagon 50 mm f/4

    FLE HFT PQ</i> or <i>Schneider Super-Angulon 40mm f/3.5</i> medium format lenses

    for duration of 2-3 weeks in NJ-NY state area and how much this might cost? I

    plan a trip to Norway this summer but do not have my own wide angle lens yet

    (and not ready to buy it). I intend to use this lens with Rollei 6008AF.

    <br><br>

    Thank you!

    <br>Kind regards,

    <br>Oleg

  6. <br>Hello folks!

    <br>

    <br>I have just got the repaired battery for my Rollei 6008AF (10V, NiCad),

    which suppose to perform even better then new one because the cells replacement.

    Unfortunately, I was not able to charge it (camera display shows CHARGE message)

    at all - the "N" type charger just shows steady green light, without any signs

    of red one. Even whole night at charger makes no difference. I was told by

    repairer that special "trick" is required in order to initialized such battery

    and was assured by him that battery features no internal damages. The problem is

    he is not remember what is the "trick" needs to be applied...

    <br>

    <br>Please let me know if someone can help...

    <br>With best regards,

  7. Russia could became a first country where Rollei Hy6 will hit the market!

    Well, at least, they have started <a

    href="http://www.photosale.ru/inc/price.php?show=1177662385252612">accepting

    orders</a> for it already.

    <br><br>

    According to this site the <i>Rolleiflex Hy6 Body with folding viewfinder hood,

    magazine 6x4.5/120, HD screen, accu, rapid charger, neckstrap, with lens AF

    Xenotar 2.8/80 mm PQS</i> will cost 253900 rubles (<b>~9800 USD</b>)

    <br><br>

    Configuration without lens (<i>Rolleiflex Hy6 Body with folding viewfinder hood,

    HD screen, accu, rapid charger, neckstrap</i>) will cost 148100 rubles (<b>~5700

    USD</b>)

  8. Erik,

    <br><br>

    It was very interesting and valuable observation, indeed - thank you!

    I was also wondering why they shot exactly three cameras on the first picture? Two of them are Sinar and Leaf, the last one has Rolleiflex label but F&H has no own digital back. Question: don?t you think we shall expect soon the third company joining Hy6 platform with 48mm x 48mm digital back? I wish it would be Phase One!

  9. <b>PRESS RELEASE</b>

    <b><br>Franke & Heidecke News</b>

    <b><br>Brunswick, June 12, 2007</b>

    <br>

    <i><br>"Routine? Consider it done! Working magic, though, may take a little

    longer..."</i>

    <br><br>

    The first Hy6 cameras were delivered to Jenoptik, Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH for

    their Sinar subsidiary as well as to our customer Leaf with a delay of six

    weeks. The cameras will now be fitted with Sinar and Leaf digital backs and

    subjected to exten-sive testing as Sinar Hy6 and Leaf Afi, respectively.

    <br>

    <img src="http://www.pbase.com/omoses/image/80463823/medium.jpg">

    <br><b>Hy6 Group </b> (<a

    href="http://www.pbase.com/omoses/image/80463821/original">1000x600px, 150Kb</a>)

    <br>

    At the same time, Franke & Heidecke will run their own stringent tests on the

    analog version of the Rolleiflex Hy6. It goes without saying that customers can

    at any time equip their analog Hy6 with a digital back by Sinar or Leaf. The Hy6

    will go on sale only after all these tests have been successfully concluded.

    This is presently expected to be the case by the end of July 2007.

    <br><br>

    The last few weeks have amply proved the viability of the partnership between

    Jen-optik and Franke & Heidecke, all difficulties and deadlines notwithstanding.

    After all, Jenoptik had to commit themselves, based on the deadlines developed

    jointly with Franke & Heidecke.

    <br><br>

    Franke & Heidecke's Research and Development Department has created a new

    highlight for photographers everywhere. For their part, Jenoptik - responsible

    for the electronic systems ? have done their utmost to ensure the timely

    completion of fully functional Hy6 cameras.

    <br><br>

    Whoever has practical experience in the implementation of novel technical

    concepts will be well aware of potentional problems. The cameras now presented

    do not mean that a finished product were already available. All the partners

    concerned are still busy preparing for the beginning of series production.

    <br><br>

    The Hy6 undoubtedly awaits a great future. Designed for the 6x6cm negative size,

    it is predestined to handle future high-resolution 48x48mm sensors used in

    digital backs.

    <br><br>

    Particularly attractive for users of Rolleiflex System 6000 equipment is the

    fact that all their lenses will fit the Hy6 seamlessly. However, continual

    improvement of digital backs also calls for the development of new lenses.

    Franke & Heidecke have already taken up the design of such lenses to satisfy the

    demands of exacting professionals.

    <br><br>

    The successful development of the Hy6 is sure to be followed by further

    highlights from Franke & Heidecke.

    <br><br><b>---end of press release---</b>

    <br>Enjoy these long awaited great news directly from F&H, folks! :)

    <br>Kind regards,

    <br>Oleg (aka <b><a href="http://www.pbase.com/omoses">oMoses</a></b>)

  10. According to my sources in Rollei Germany Hy6 design is over and tools and instruments for production were ordered. Most likely assembling will begin April and the first cameras could reach market one month later. It means we should expect them in US end of May.

  12. <i>Ilia Yefimovitch,</i>,

    <br>

    <br>Once we are talking about 6x6 MF system may I recommend you even do not consider other cameras then Rollei. Few years ago, when I was in your shoes, I made very solid comparison of MF cameras, available on the market, and soon realized that Rollei is simply the best. I bet we both share a common culture background and that's why I almost positive you will fell in love with Rollei because of so appreciated among our fellow countrymen overall quality of German build, design and amazing logic in control placement. However, your budget might be an issue with Rollei, it is true...

  13. <b>The Jenoptik Group rescinds the sale of its 51 percent of the shares in Sinar

    AG to Leica Camera AG.</b>

    <br>

    <br>

    The sale of the Sinar shares to Leica Camera AG had been agreed and published at

    short notice at Photokina in Cologne at the end of September 2006. The transfer

    of the shares to Leica Camera AG was subject to contractual conditions which

    have not been fully completed to date. By rescinding from the contract, Jenoptik

    intends to avert damage from Sinar AG due to unclear ownership structures.

    Jenoptik reserves the right to assert against Leica Camera AG claims for damage

    resulting from the failed sale. At present, other business relations between

    Jenoptik and Leica Camera AG are not effected by today's decisions.

    <br>

    <br>

    The measure was supported by the market success of the new Hy6 medium-format

    camera for professional photographers, which Jenoptik developed in conjunction

    with partners, amongst others Franke & Heidecke. This camera, to which experts

    give excellent marks, was presented by Jenoptik at this year's Photokina for the

    first time. It will be distributed in the market also by Sinar, as had

    originally been planned. This means that Sinar will remain part of the

    activities in the digital imaging area of the Jenoptik Group.
