  1. I am pulling out my hair!!!!

I can change my perameter setting on my 1D, yet on my second body I

cannot........ Also, Is there a way to shoot the higher Jpeg setting

(on perameter) without changing the sharpness setting> mine is stuck

on sharpness level 2. Is that a good sharpening system or is Unsharp

mask the way to go? Why the hell can I change on 1 body and not the

other? I have this same problem with the Personal Fucntions

    menu......wont let me change on 1 body....AAARRRGGGG!!!

    #@!@#!$#@!$@#!

    Any help is appreciated..

  2. I am using a canon 70-200 2.8L with a 2x teleconverter on a

canon 1D digital camera. I seem to notice that the images I shoot

are a little soft comapred to those I see of other photographers. I

asume they shoot with a 400mm 2.8L (I shoot mostly sports, and the

400 500 and 600 are the weapons of choice.) Does anyone have any

experience with the doubler AND one of the mentioned L series

telephoto lens? I am saving up for the 400 2.8L in hopes of a

sharper image.......Hope its worth the extra $6k. Also does the

doubler on a 200mm get the same compression as the 400?

Thanks for the help from anyone who can answer!!!<div>00741A-16129384.jpg.f9bd3bffbed54cbe6ecece694ec502ca.jpg</div>

  3. I'm about to buya 15mm for my canon 1d (crop factor 1.3). I want a

180 deg. view, so the 15mm seems good. I have all canon lens but

heard that Sigma is making nice lenses now. Has anyone done any

comparisons with the different aperatures to see the soft corners? Is

the Sigma a tough lens for a PJ? I dont mind spending the extra 150

for the canon, but thought I'd give Sigma a second chance. Thanks

  4. I am using a canon 1D, and cant figure out how to get my raw files to

convert on my PC. They show up on my card reader files as TIFF's, and

are compressed. They are 2x3 inches @ 72 res. I converted on mac, but

cant figure it out on pc. Do I import through photoshop 7.0? The

driver for my card reader doesn't show up on the import in photoshop,

it does on my d60, but not on my 1D. Any help?!!!!!

Please, i'm desperate. I dont want to just shoot high-jpegs.........

  5. I just bought a canon 1D. All of my lenses fit nice and snug, but my

70-200 L series seems to snap into place, but is a little loose. Is

this going to effect my pictures? Is this easily fixed? Expensive?

Its well under warranty, so I'm not worried, just want to know if I

will be with out it for a long time because its a hard repair. I

would rather send it to a local repair shop if its an inexpensive

repair, rather then waiting 2 months for canon to repair it.

    Anyhelp will help. thanks.

  6. I'm Thinking of buying the Canon 1D from Expres Cameras (1800-2398161

    if anyone wants one too).

They're selling them for $3129plus shipping which is $156 which is A

LOT!!! But its still hundreds unde the rest.

They said that its a foreign camera with a 1yr store warr. No canon

US warr. but its factory sealed with all the software and other

    stuff.

Should I spend the extra 2-300 to get US?

    THanks

  7. I have found that the eye control is very acurate on the canon

eos 3 Film body. I use it every time I shoot, and am very use to and

spoiled by it. This is the coolest feature og the eos 3 and I think

one of the best features next to the IS and USM lenses. This makes

the best use of the 45 point focusing. It is a bit too long to

manually swith through the individual points ( I did that for months

before I found out how to calibrate the eye control), and the points

that the computer chooses NEVER grab the spots that I intend. (Please

correct me if anyone has any other experiences.)

My original point is that they dont have it on any of the

digitals. (that I have used. 10d/1d.)

Seems to me that the 1d should have that since its an action

shooter's camera. I think the 1D came out before the eye control did,

but Im not sure. But what about the 10d or the 1DS??!!

  8. I'm doing my homework before buying the 1D. Someone (Maybe it was a

Nikon Rep!) told me that the 1D loses the normal 4.15 Megapixel

quality when shooting with the drive set to 8fps. He said that it

drops to about 1-2 MP's. Is this true? I am a Photojournalism student

and am interested in shooting sports and journalism work and NEED at

least the 4.15 MP's when shooting fast. Any help would be great!!!

That would be the only drawbacks from the 1D. I have too much $

in L lenses invetsed to switch to nikon and the 10d wont really

bequick enough and the 1ds, although nice, still isn't a PJ tool.

    Thanks,
