I actually lowered my contrast to look at this image (had it turned up fairly high) and liked it even more when I could see into the shadows. Very nicely done.

Not really much to critique. Maybe I'd blow it up ever so slightly to make the eye a little more engaging, and then burn down the background a touch. It's an excellent photo.
