I think it's darn-dear perfect, and outstanding. The only thing to me--the house in the background near the left-side is a tad distracting. Otherwise, this is a HUGE winner.

Beautiful. The red roses really jazz it up. I love the 2/3rds placement of the road as opposed to centering it--good call.

I LOVE shots like these--antique/classic objects which just scream "Americana" and are clearly not snapshots. Why can't I get shots like these?

Looks a lot like many of my in-laws (HAHA!) Seriously, though, great expressions, great focusing, good blurring of background. How did you catch him like that, for real?
  1. Okay, it's an old photo--taken a whopping 21 years ago (almost)! I

was 14 at the time (almost 15), am now 35. Taken with a Nikon EM,

50mm Series E lens, 45 minute timed exposure, Plus-X film, tripod

(obviously). NO alterations at all, scanned with Hewlett-Packard S20.

The star trails are obvious. The shiny light near the left is a

lighted tower about 1/2 mile from our house. The light-source near

the left is a yard-light on our lightpole (out of view).

The What do you guys think of it?

I have the same digital camera, but your photos sure look much better. I'd sure love to have your technique. The 5700 is a great camera.

The yellow is real "punchy" and I also like how you have the window off to the left in a "rule of thirds" manner rather than having it centered. Good move.
