    My Lee ND grads are resin. I've used Lee filters almost exclusively for 5 years. They offer superb quality at a reasonable price and I can thoroughly recommend them.

    Super Angulon 72mm on Ebony RW45?

    I regularly use a 65mm on a standard board on my RW45 with no problems. The range of movements is limited more by the lens's coverage than by the bellows or camera. When shooting my landscapes, the 65mm has such a large DOF, that only minimal movements are needed anyway. HTH

    Ebony SV45 vs RW45

    Hi Shawn

     

    I had the same decision to make last year and ended up buying the RW45 (in mahogany), mainly because the range of movements it has are more than sufficient for my landscapes but also because I couldn't justify to myself the extra money for the SV. The range of usable lenses is pretty good as well, 60mm to 300mm if my memory serves me right.

     

    Have a look at Ebony's website (http://www.ebonycamera.com/) and also Robert Whites (http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/) Each have the full range of specs and extra info.

    Nikon-W 240mm

    Hi Mike

    I have the 270/6.3 model, which I use a lot. It is a superb lens (as you would expect from Nikon) and my Ebony RW45 has no problems with it. It's not that much bulkier than my Schnieder 210/5.6. HTH

    Lee Filter-banding problem

    I've also had a problem with a moire type pattern on images when shooting with Lee gel filters. I bought an 81 set mounted in Lee's own plastic frames and used them on a shoot for a week. When they shots came back from the lab, some had a rainbow type effect, most visible in the mid-tones. On one shot with a flowing river in the foreground, it looked like the shot had been a multiple exposure using red, green and magenta filters!

     

    On checking my notes, it turned out that the 81c was the worst offender, but I could see nothing wrong with the filter.

    A friend has suggested that as I was shooting in damp, rainy conditions, moisture had gotten sandwiched between the filters.

     

    Anyway, I chucked the whole set away, and went back to the resin ones, with which I've never had problems. HTH
